Spent the afternoon at the castle to escape the crowds in central Prague. Caught the train the Karlstejn and walked up the hill to the castle. Interesting historical afternoon. Easy afternoon trip without needing to be on a tour.

very nice walk from the train station. the view is amazing you can skip the guided tour- but that is only my opinion :) hard with baby stroller we loved the visit.

No, unfortunatly you can visit only as guided tour, but I recoment to borrow the audio guide and tak efirst check tour that goes to the castle, as there are only 2 english and 2 german tours per day
