I checked in to this place many years ago and spent overnight with a friend. The room was quiet and facilities were new at that time. We enjoyed the serenity of the sea during the night and as if the sound of the waves lulled us to sleep.

On my summer vacation this year, we chanced upon this same beach which has not lost its serenity. The calm breeze of the beach and pristine water makes it a perfect place to relax. Highly recommended.

This is one of the beach areas of Pagudpud. It's located in Brgy. Saud ... very accessible from the main road. It's got light brown colored fine sand and clear waters ... lovely for swimming. However, it's not the best beach in Pagudpud. Head for the Blue Lagoon instead. At any rate, Saud offers a vast selection of resorts (unlike the Blue Lagoon) and is much closer to rhe main road.

Since it was the end of the trip in the Philippines, my friend and me literally had no money left.
So we decided to go camping at the beach, which was definiteley the right decision!

We had a great spot on a small hill, where you could see the sunset perfectly and escape a bit of the busy crowd on the beach itself.
The stalls in front had great food to offer and were always happy to help us out with water oder putting our veggies on the grill.

The plan first was to stay for 2 or three days, but we ended up staying for a week! Its worth a trip, even though its nothing else to see except of the beach and a waterfall!

Great beach but the locals need to keep it cleaner...last year march 2018 it was spotless this march 2019 not as clean... plastic bits metal beer tops and cigarette ends.
Would I come here again YES but please have more care in your beach.

The beach itself is really beautiful. Worth visiting, but not have to choose your hotel carefully. Lot of hotels will scam it's beach as theirs but you'll find they only have rocks, and the proper beach is a bit far. The sand is very nice, and high elevated from the sea level.

Saud beach is one of the cleanest beach I’ve ever been to: Nice powdery sand; clear blue-green water with not-so mild waves crashing into the beach; windmills as backdrop against this magnificent view... Best of all, you got to enjoy a beautiful sunset right in front of you…

If only they could get rid of the dogs loitering around… I wonder where they poop?

Beautiful setting, needs a little maintenance, staff must have worked at correction facility before being hired here.
Desk Manager spent more time telling us what she couldn't do for us vs what she could. Demanded full payment before you got to see the rooms. Staff threatened to fine us 50p for pouring their hot water into our thermos to make coffee. Never stayed at such a depressing, tight fisted hotel like this one.. Rented 4 rooms for 2 nights, couldn't wait to get away... I had to apologize to the family I brought to stay here.

Forget the blue lagoon you only need spend your time here. There is a very small entrance fee and its a very wide beach with trees to give you shade should you wish to stay out of the sun. Fine white sand and what I was impressed with was when arriving really early in the morning there were a number of people cleaning the beach for any branches seaweed or rubbish
The water is lovely and clear with a sandy bottom just a few stones but nothing like blue lagoon where you must wear Aqua shoes. Walking along the the beach no one to hassle you like in Borocay, although at the other end of the beach where are all the hotels the water was a bit milky blue color and some seaweed
Great beach and so far the best I've been in Philippines

Wind was cold, view was spectacular, beach was clean, friendly people, quiet place. Definitely a go to place for those who want peace and tranquility.

I was here in Nov/12. I had rented a motorcycle near Manila and was in the process of doing a 1600km trip when we got to Pagudpud and Saud beach. The area is very remote being pretty well as far north on Luzon as you can get, I was told by another set of tourists they spent 13 hours on the bus from Manila to get there although you can fly to Laoag and bus it from there. I was glad I had my own wheels as I took 8 days, stopping all along the coast to explore on the way up. I'm very well traveled in the Philippines and I have to say in a country of fabulous beaches this is one the most beautiful I've seen.

The beach itself is northwest facing, 2 km long and crescent shaped with white sand. About half of it is undeveloped with mostly smaller family run resorts on the western side. I stayed in a smaller but new motel style place (Northridge Inn) about 100 mtrs to the sandy part of the beach (rocky directly in front of us) for 800p/nite including A/C & wifi. We spent our days at the Casa Victoria which is on the central part of the developed section sitting out on chairs in the sand in front of their restaurant under the shade of coconut trees (not directly under, watch for falling coconuts!) having food, a few beers and dipping in the water now and again when the mood struck.

The weather can be iffy in this part of the country, looking in my travel guide I see they have it mapped as a sort of micro-climate with no real defined wet & dry season. On my trip (again, Nov/12) it was the only time I saw wet weather although it only lasted one day, the rest were blue & beautiful. The weather brought up the surf so the locals brought out their surfboards for the first day we were there, the rest of the time the water was flat & calm.

There are a few things to do in the area, you can rent trikes with driver who will take you to the windmills, the waterfalls, Blue Lagoon, or the WW2 Stingray submarine monument. As I said I had my own bike, very convenient! Where the bus drops you off in town and you get a trike to the beach which is about 5km away, there is a good market where you can buy fresh fruit, a small pharmacy, t-shirts & fruit shakes even a small stand with a guy selling french fries for 20p if you need a fix!

I have no interest in Boracay but this is what it must have been like in the 80's. I saw maybe 10 people in the water at once while I was there.
