While the Gardens have their ups and downs. (A Downer being some louts attacking THE WILDLIFE SOME YEARS AGO.)The good news it is still free , still plenty of Australian wildlife for the kids. And the Kiosk is still available for hire.

Not a bad place for a picnic.... plenty of room for the kids to kick a ball and run around. The grounds also had lots to explore, so it was nice to wander around and feed the birds. I can imagine it would get crowded...More

Nice park, very shady with lots of options - lake, different picnic areas, lots of paths for riding and playgrounds. There is a little wildlife reserve where you can see emu's and wallaby's. My little sister loved that!

You can walk very little if you want to just have a picnic. The animals aren't too far from car park on Merrylands road. And yes wheelchair accessible
