This is a place to get a feeling of how things were 120 to 150 millions of years ago in Colombia, meaning that a short visit will get you a lot of information

A small but excellent collection of prehistoric fossils, primarily sea creatures, found in the local area. Some are large and almost complete. Reasonable signage in English as well as Spanish. We found it fascinating. You can also see the area where the scientists work. Good educational facility for kids too.
Snack and drinks available.

Different fossils from the region, including marine and terrestrial dinosaurs, although the marine is the majority. Acoustics and lighting are good. Could use more signs, although they exist, and some are also in English.

Not everything is encased behind glass do you can get very close to the real thing. Including dinosaur foot prints.

Friendly, Spanish-speaking staff member at the door.

Not a big place but very interesting if you like history. There are many unique fossils and the guides are professionals working to discover, prepare and preserve the fossils and they give you detailed information. Worth the visit.

We were taken around the small museum by a guide who spoke excellent English and explained the exhibits really well. She was extremely knowledgeable about their fossils and was able to give detailed answers to our questions. Do visit both this museum and the nearby El Fosíl museum.

We went to this museum today and payed 24000 for both of us and that included English speaking tour. Very interesting it’s small but worth a visit. We walked there from the centre it was easy enough but coming back is a lot up hill so make sure you have some water with you.

Little nice museum, that is dedicated to the paleontological history of Villa de Leyva and Colombia. They have nice fossiles and the staff is educated.

This place shows from research and education everything that has been discovered in Villa de Leyva about marine dinosaur fossils. We found a didactic place with professional guides that handle the subject with a lot of methodology and order.

This museum is excellent and although the guide has rather stilted English she told us how the whole area around is still full of marine fossils and the ones on display have been very well reconstructed.

Interesting to learn more about Colombia through its paleontological history. While the exhibit is quite small, it is definitively worth a visit if you are in the area anyways. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and our specific guide spoke good English.
