Great trip out to this location, extremely friendly guide with a good knowledge of the history. The trip included a visit to a research farm which added to the day.

It's a beautiful setting. Get there early while the water is still flat and the tour boats from Qaqortoq have arrived. Photo ops abound if you can keep the mosquitos at bay. Definitely worth the 20 min boat ride.

The ruins are interesting if you are "into" that sort of thing. It is certainly not worth a trip to Greenland just to see these.

My wife & I visited 8/20 as part of a North Atlantic cruise. Fortunately, we had a speedy zodiac to reach the ruins from the town plus a very knowledgeable guide who is an expert/professor on the subject of the Vikings/Norse. Getting to the ruins...More
