Description:

Golden Bay Kayaks is one of the best little kayak companies in New Zealand,...

Golden Bay Kayaks is one of the best little kayak companies in New Zealand, situated in one of the best kayaking destinations in the world, which is why it is such a popular destination for all kayakers from beginners to the more experienced.

They specialise in kayak rentals for a half day, full day or the popular 'paddle the length of the Abel Tasman', the only company that will allow this.

The Guided tours are a simple, no fuss, high value experience where the personal touch makes the half day spent on the water a memorable experience. Perfect for those that have not kayaked before or very little or for those keen to learn about the Northern end of the Abel Tasmans rich history, geology and wildlife.

Stand Up Paddle boards available and the easily accessible Tata Islands is a fantastic destination to explore the close up nature of islands. They are the closest sea kayak company to the Abel Tasman National Park.

An extra bonus at the end(or start) of the day is the great coffee and ice cream....PERFECT!

Hard to write a review without repeating what has already been said. Perfect weather, perfect guide (Nathaniel) and perfect sights - the rocky shoreline, seals, stingray, penguin, herons and so on. Tata beach is a great place anyway, but this made it special.

What an outstanding experience. Excellent trip. Detailed explanation of the "how to do it" with emphasis on safety regardless if you are experienced or a first timer. Once on the water, Nathaniel & Ella, our guides, did a fabulous job with pointing out wildlife as well as some Maori and island history. We would highly recommend this trip, well worth... More

We took two open top kayaks and headed out for a few hours with the whole family and it was just beautiful on a calm day. We saw gannets and a few seals and just had a great time.

Lovely staff, excellent advise and lovely sights to see even for New Zealanders who have kayaked before. Loved learning to paddle board. Easier than I thought and went further than I thought we could get in an hour. Through a rock arch, past cormorants nests and round an island. Thanks Tony and Nate. Need to plan in advance as popular... More

The Golden Bay/ Tasman Abel area is ideal for kayaking, with fabulous scenery and wildlife including birds and seals, and the cream on the cake at Golden Bay Kayaks is the professional and friendly manner that the staff ran the outing, totally impressive down the last detail including a coffee stop along the way.

Golden Bay Kayaks were very helpful when we called to enquire. Suggested if we had the time to go out later in the week, when the wind wasn't so strong. Provided all the equipment and safety instructions we needed to confidently paddle off on our own. Boats were easy to us although getting in and out could be challenging! Paddled... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water on the SUPs. One of the 3 hadn't been on a SUP before and was given a quick lesson. Beautiful beach to play around on with stingrays, star fish and shags to look at.

Never done kayaking before and we had the best time. Amazing to get so close to islands and sea life, and got a really good feel for kayaking. Nathaniel was fantastic, really knowledgeable, interesting and friendly, and stayed around to recommend places to us in Golden Bay afterwards.

We were lucky to get a calm day on the ocean after a number of days of bad weather. Nathaniel the guide was very helpful, knowledgeable and obviously loves his job. I tripped getting out of the kayak and my poor mobile phoned got a soaking. I'm happy to report that it dried out and has been reborn. My tip... More
