The cave offers spectacular views and has guided tours in Serbian every hour. Even if you don’t speak the language you can still enjoy the views. Don’t forget to bring a jacket or a sweater because even if it is hot outside, the cave is chilly.

When visiting Resavska cave one must ask himself/herself how is it possible for nature to spontaneously create such a manificent beauty. Despite the lack of answer to such a question, one must definitely visit this natural wonder for sure. All recommendations!

Extremely nicely organised tour. The cave halls are probably a little smaller than what I have seen elsewhere but the richness of cave jewellery surpasses some French and Indochina caves. The only thing missing is audio of the tour in English. But really really worth experience.

The cave itself is nice, even ifnotdifferentfromsimilarcaveselsewhere.
I leave only 3 stars as the tour was too short in my opinion:the guide (a blonde woman) seemed to be ina hurry, and our grop of 15-10 persons was inside a little less than 30minutes. There was not enough time just to stand and admire.
Also, some information posted on the ticket sales point (times of operation, excursions, guides in other langages than Serbian, prices) would be appreciated.

Once there, don't miss it, but having seen many more colourful caves elsewhere I was not too impressed.
Surroundings are wonderful though.

Very nice cave, it has great guide. Place which you should visit in any case. If you can imagine that only for one centimeter of shape is required 1000 years to be made, you can start calculate how old is this cave.... :-)

Resavska Cave is one of the biggest caves in Serbia and it is located in Despotovac, a town in the center of the country. We went inside in a guided visit (in fact, only it is possible to visit it with a guide visit), which was very interesting and we could learn a lot about the formation of stalactites and stalagmites, and we like very much some of the rooms and rocks formation. Very interesting place.

We joined a 4:15 tour - guide was knowledgeable, but rushed us throught the cave in 30(!) minutes so she cam go home. I did not drive 150km for that kind of treatment.

Set in a tranquil and lovely rural area up a mountain away from the chaos of the big cities, me and my girlfriend took a drive up from Belgrade to see the Resavska cave. It’s actually pretty easy to find using the sat nav and well sign posted for some reassurance once you get off the motorway. The cave is extremely impressive and well lit with some incredible stalagmite formations. There are several areas or halls on various depths with their own names and stories which the guide explained with great enthusiasm and knowledge. We went just before new year and called in advance to make sure it would be open, we were told there would be no English guides working that day but went anyway. Our guide was such a great guy, patiently waiting while my girlfriend translated from Serbian to English for me and answering all our questions with a clear passion for the cave and love of his work, he even offered to take photos of us at various points and made us feel very welcome and involved with the caves history, which I won’t detail since you should go and experience it and learn for yourself! If you’re in Serbia this should definitely be on your to do list and can be tied in with several other points of interest around the area of Despotovac on your way to and from Belgrade or Nis or wherever your staying.
