Good attraction, sunny or rainy day. The deep mine tour especially is wonderful, giving a real impression of what it was like working down there and allowing access to several enormous caverns and an underground lake. As with the other reviews, the guiding/audio presentation could...More

If your expecting a good day out here you'r likely to be very disappointed. The price of the entry and 2 underground tours is £14.75 each. It really is obscenely overpriced, you can visit the Welsh Slate Museum in Llanberis free............ The brochure calls the...More

We did the combined Quarry Explorer and Deep Mine Experience, and it was amazing! Our guide, Bryn, was excellent... engaging, funny, and knowledgeable. I loved seeing the surface quarry in the decommissioned military truck (the mill ruins were a highlight), and then following it with...More

Takes around 1:30mins for the tour priced at £20 per person. You travel underground. To a depth of 500m in caverns demonstrating the art of slate mining 150 years ago. Great experience for all the family with this guided tour.

We booked the combined tour- round the quarry in a DAF truck, warm up with a hot chocolate, then the deep mine tour. It was very cold up in the quarry (wrap up really well) but fascinating, and even our hard-to-impress tweens found it interesting....More
