What a wonderful mini afternoon safari arranged by Green Park Safari Guest House. A terrific and enthusiastic eagle eyed driver who spotted obscure wild life in the trees and bush. The almost 100 elephants were a no brainer. Also gorgeous peacocks and water buffalo etc Perfect four hour adventure for a city slicker!

You're going to see a lot of elephants here, water buffalo, peacocks and other birds. We saw a few monkeys but they are all over the island. The elephants make it worth it in itself. Go enjoy yourself!

Udawalawe national park had the most elephants we saw out of the parks we visited. There were many elephants of varying ages. Was a very present experience.

Saw lots of elephants, and lovely birds. It was a hot bumpy ride. If you suffer with motion sickness, take a pill before you start!

This was an unforgettable experience. We had a great jeep driver who took us on both afternoon and morning safaris. We saw many elephants, one just a week old, and some close enough to almost touch. They are mesmerising creatures. The park is teeming with birds - eagles, green bean birds, beautiful kingfisher and many, many more. The driver was... More

After a disappointment at Yala and although seeing many elephants at Kaudulla, the experience we had at Udawalawe was far superior. First although the elephants do no occur en masse they are present as small family groups. We had a wonderful time right in the midst of a small herd watching them browse. In contrast to the other two parks... More

If you've never seen elephants before, then go for sure - there are plenty and seeing them in their natural habitat is a thrill. There are also lots of peacocks, bulls and birds. Most guides know their way around the place well enough - book one through the place you're staying at (easier than coming here and booking, though that... More

A friend and I visited during the morning. First off, the process of getting the tickets to enter is typicaly Sri Lankan disorganised. We waited in a queue, although it moved quite quickly - they could easily make the process more efficient, however. The safari itself is conducted by various private companies, and there's no management of how this is... More
