We really enjoyed our safari around the park. Our children (4 and 8) had a ball too. We saw elephants closer than i can believe and witnessed a peacock dance. The views are impossibly beautiful and require loads of photos. The banyan trees alone are incredible. Heaps of birds if you're interested and a good variety of other animals made... More

The rating given by anyone taking a safari on the Udawalawe National Park is going to largely depend on how many and what kind of animals are seen. We were picked up early in the morning from the hotel and taken to the nearby park for the safari. We had pre-arranged this excursion back in the UK with a reputable... More

Within 3 minutes of entering the park we came upon 5 elephants cooling off and splashing water on themselves. We parked within 15 feet of them and enjoyed the little babies playing in the mud. As we continued through the park there were many more elephant sitings. You are pretty much guaranteed to see lots of them in this park.... More

The Safari was a really awesome experience! We saw a lot of wild animals like elephants, a wide varity of birds, buffalos, crocodiles and a lot more wild animals. The entrance was a bit expansive but we saved some money because we didnt booked a guide at the entrance (just say NO and they will leave you alone). We had... More

This is the best park to see elephants in Sri Lanka. There are many elephants in this park and possibility of siting them very high.

This is where we should see elephants and wildlife. Where they belong, in the wild! You have to visit this national park. It is incredible. There is no way to tell you how exhilarating a safari will make you feel until you do it. Our guides showed us plenty of animals including a mum and baby very close by to... More

the safari with a Jeep was in the afternoon till closing (6:00 PM). we have seen elephant ,birds ,crocodiles and buffaloes.Unfortunate all lakes due to the drought had been only a quarter of normal water level therefore all animals showed a malnutrition. the scarce vegetation influenced the life of animals .

One of the main reasons people go to Sri Lanka is the elephants, here you get to see them in a protected natural environment. The elephants roam free in the national park, unlike other places where they are chained up. A guide takes you around the park in a jeep and you get to see a range of animals in... More

This was an amazing experience and I'm so pleased we went here. On the day we visited we never saw more that 2 or 3 other jeeps around us and we saw so many elephants. It was truly a wonderful experience.
