Also known as the "Love Island", it is the largest island in Dongting Lake. A national AAAA scenic area, its attractions include Liu Yi's Well, Tombs of the Two Empresses, Feilai Bell, etc. It also has many flora and fauna especially a variety of bamboos, rare trees of red and green leaves and many birds. Interesting to visit but be prepared to squeeze into the boat for a ride out to the island and do some walking around the attractions. However, there are mini trolley buses to ferry visitors from one attraction to the other on the island. Worthwhile visit as we were told it was for good health and happiness too!

Walking around the island was lovely. Easy paths and walkways and information provided in English so we could appreciate the stories behind the buildings, statues and art work. We enjoyed tea at the tea room. Lovely!
