What a fantastic day out on the Skomer island. Well worth the early start and queuing at the ticket booth from 7:40. Takes about 3 hours to walk around the island and seeing all of it

We were lucky that we came down the previous evening to suss the place out and watch the sunset from the cliffs (worth a visit in its own right) Luckily we met a regular who told us about the need to arrive early in the...More

Visited with my boyfriend and parents. Our B&B collected tickets for us for the 10am boat which saved us from getting up early and queueing. We arrived early, parked and wandered down to the boat queue. The boat is very small so the 50 of...More

We drove 2 hours to make a trip over the Skomer. We arrived half an hour before the first boat left, thinking that if we couldn't get on that boat, we'd at least be able to get on one of the others. We pulled into...More

If you love puffin, then this island will be paradise for you, as it was for me. From the 15 minute boat trip you start to see puffins floating on the inlet and at the landing site there are so many puffins burrowing on the...More

Wonderful day at Skomer spent viewing Puffins and other sea birds. There is a 15 minute boat trip across to the island and then you have hours on the island to enjoy the natural beauty and view the sea birds. The Puffins are amazing and...More

We are thinking of visiting sooner in the next few weeks. We will be travelling 2 and a half hours to get there. When should we aim to arrive by as we don't want to arrive and not be able to visit the island? And what are the chances of seeing puffins end of June? Thanks in advance!

I concur with those above. If you are travelling any distance, plan to stay nearer and then get to the booking office by 09:00.
Can you land every day or is it only on certain days of the week ? Thank you
