Caldey Island raisond'etre

Unfortunately access to the monastery is severely restricted so you may have to content yourself with just island exploration and reading up about its fascinating history.

Incredible building and you have the chance to see the Monks pray in their own church. Visit all of the island to get a feel of the place.

We always visit the island and Monastery when there and find it peaceful; steeped in history and is well worth the boat trip to Caldey. I bought a book while there and read all about the Islands History and the roles the monks have and their backgrounds. A very special place.

A nice place to see, you cannot go into the Monastery but the island it is on is a perfect place to spend a day.

Came during May Half term. Even with quite a lot of people, the place was very peaceful and beautiful.

This building is beautiful and is the main reason I wanted to visit Caldey Island. Access to the building is restricted to the public, understandably as it's still in use. It would have been interesting to nose about inside but unfortunately it's beauty can only be admired from afar. There is plenty of information about the monastery dotted around the... More

Came here bank holiday weekend and it was a calm place and beautifully done. The monastery was clean and tidy like the island itself

A boat trip to one of the most peaceful and lovely Places I have ever visited. The trip across from Tenby was fun, the island when we arrived a haven of tranquility, lovely place to stroll around, visit the lighthouse, the shop, the chocolate factory. Try the tea and cakes! We were lucky enough to time a visit to the... More
