Soo much BUDDHA, too little time... next time, don’t forget to bring the eggs.
You need about 2hrs here. Make sure you check out Wat Saman Rattanaram which is about 20mins away.
Very large food market across the street.
You can give flower to Buddha in main temple. Then head over to pray donate lamp oil, then over to bless your eggs and gold leaf the different Buddha statues.
locates, Chachoengsao, Thailand

Said to be the largest chapel in Thailand, the wat (temple) houses a very famous Buddha image that locals bring offerings to for merit making. Dig up the story -- it's fascinating. The wat is on the river that goes thru the town of Chachoengsao and you must do at least a quick tour of the downtown area. It's very charming and obviously quite old. The large Thai market across the street can be fun, too.

This is one temple which I will always go again and again. Personally I love this temple, its beautiful and its very peaceful inside. Its about 2 hr plus drive from Bangkok but its worth the drive. Again, its no sleeveless for ladies and no shorts please.

very popular and busy with so many Thai people. It is quite interesting to watch how local people pray in the temple. The Buddha in the old hall maybe very famous, meanwhile the new hall is less busy though the building itself is very impressive. People bring eggs when they have been realized their wish.

This temple is very popular among people in Thailand including the locals; and the annual number of visitors is the second after Wat Phra Kaew - Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok. The monastery houses the sacred Buddha image called Phra Phutthasothon or Luang Pho Sothon that is one of the most worshiped Buddha images in Thailand and also is most revered by local people.

I went there by train from Hualumpong station (free), it took 1:30 hrs same as by van from Victoria monument (100 baht). But after arrived by train you have to take song taew (8 baht) to wat sothon for 5 minutes. Wat sothon is the largest temple in the world, be located next to the river and it's beautiful not less than the temple in Bangkok. On the weekend is always busy with people but it's worth to visit there at least once in your life and you'll never regret. :)

This is a very beautiful Wat, stunning exterior, like it comes straight out of a fairytale:-)
The interior is a bit more underwhelming in comparison
The place seems very popular with Thai people who come to pray here

One of the most respected buddha for local Thais who come to worship and pray. The new shrine is beautiful. The temple itself is well organized.
The strict/ modest dress code is observed before entering the new main shrine. So be prepared or otherwise you will get to rent one of the gowns available to cover up.”

I want to rent a phra sothon bucha and worship at home. Can I rent 1 at wat sothon wararam worawihan?
Written 31 January 2020
Hello. I am not sure whether you can rent the Amulet to worship. You may ask at the temple. But mostly, what i had seen is that, people purchased one that they like and do the worship and prayer.

Hi, I am thinking of making a trip to Wat Sothorn this coming Thurs 12th April 2018, which is a day before the Songkran festival. Will the temple be opened? And would I be expecting heavy traffic from Bangkok to Wat Sothorn.
Thanks
Written 9 April 2018
This period of time the Temple will be very crowded and the journey will definitely be affected. Although Songkran festival starts on 13th, the atmosphere and mood will start on 11th. Places like Chiangmai will start the mood on 10th
So just pray hard n leave your hotel very early in the morning and have your prayers answered. Good luck.

Hellos, may I know those who have visited Wat Sothon, how do you guys get there?
Written 22 February 2017
my family and i rented a car to go there. we went on the weekend which was extremely crowded and difficult to find a place to park. you can take a taxi but it would be costly and you will have difficulty getting back. best option is to either rent your own car or let your hotel arrange it for you to get there and back plus other places on the way if you want to stop here or there.
