Museums aren’t usually our thing but this museum was really enjoyable. 5TL admission with a structure that allows you to experience the historical Mardin. And includes human skeletons! It’s not huge, but there are a lot of details so you probably need about an hour...More

Centrally located. A great deal to see, very well presented, with a museum director so well known in Marvin. Excellent!

The museum looks massive, set in a palatial Mardin building which is stunningly constructed and carved, in the local honey hued stone. The collection is relatively small, but well set out and informative. It is the first theme organised museum of Turkey. Free entrance, well...More

Obviously I couldn't visit it but it looks rich and considering Mardin's history it must be amazing. However, Mardin is plenty of places to visit and even a stroll on the main street is a great way of spending the afternoon.

Mardin isn't exactly a 'tourist' destination yet this new-ish museum was fantastic. Good layout, small but simple, explaining local craft techniques and the history of its place along the Silk Road. If you're in Mardin it's definitely worth going.

This museum is good enough if you tired of walking through the buildings of Mardin. But anyway the best museum is city by itself. Also i liked another Mardin Museum, called Sakıp Sabancı Mardin Kent Müzesi.

Enjoyed this immensely. Was most informative about Mardin's history. Viewed historical photos, artworks & displays that brought Old Mardin and the surrounding area to life.

Unfortunately the Museum is not open to visitors and it was not possible to get an answer on why this is so or when it might be open to the public again.
