It is a small museum but gives you a very good idea about the history and it is the only museum that has fake items collection. They are displaying fake artifacts they have caught from people trying to sell them as originals.

Museums aren’t usually our thing but this museum was really enjoyable. 5TL admission with a structure that allows you to experience the historical Mardin. And includes human skeletons! It’s not huge, but there are a lot of details so you probably need about an hour...More

A place that must be seen in beautiful city of Mardin if you have minimum 2 days of your Mardin trip.

Centrally located. A great deal to see, very well presented, with a museum director so well known in Marvin. Excellent!

The museum looks massive, set in a palatial Mardin building which is stunningly constructed and carved, in the local honey hued stone. The collection is relatively small, but well set out and informative. It is the first theme organised museum of Turkey. Free entrance, well...More

Obviously I couldn't visit it but it looks rich and considering Mardin's history it must be amazing. However, Mardin is plenty of places to visit and even a stroll on the main street is a great way of spending the afternoon.

Mardin isn't exactly a 'tourist' destination yet this new-ish museum was fantastic. Good layout, small but simple, explaining local craft techniques and the history of its place along the Silk Road. If you're in Mardin it's definitely worth going.

Escape the heat and visit mid day to learn a lot about the long and rich history of Mardin. It also hosts a photo exposition of the east viewed from the west and another one by an eastern traveler. For 2tl the museam is worth...More

This museum is good enough if you tired of walking through the buildings of Mardin. But anyway the best museum is city by itself. Also i liked another Mardin Museum, called Sakıp Sabancı Mardin Kent Müzesi.

Enjoyed this immensely. Was most informative about Mardin's history. Viewed historical photos, artworks & displays that brought Old Mardin and the surrounding area to life.
