Well organised, it was a little blast from the past. I live in Rome and I have the opportunity to see Roman remains but I have willingly visited this museum and every time I am always amazed by what these men of many, many years ago were able to achieve. There are the remains of an ancient Roman villa with 10 rooms with spectacular floors and mosaics with beautiful scenes of wild and fantastic animals, geometric figures, human figures and scenes of daily life. Very pleasant visit.

Third time visiting, purchased 2-week Umbrian Museo ticket for 11Euros that allowed access to numerous venues throughout Umbria. Fascinating serendipitous excavation find, interactive with free app. Multimedia presentation in comfortable environment.

This little understated museum is well worth an hour or so of your time. It is very accessible in all ways - ages, depth, visibility, lack of stairs and helpful staff. The villa is reconstructed through videos while looking at the actual mosaics. There are deeper activities if time allows and plenty of hands on activities for children to do. We added this to our trip because we bought a two museum pass at the Pinoteca - what a great idea. This was the better of the two for us!!

We stumbled across the Villa dei Mosaici on our way into Spoleto and were unsure at first if it was opem, but it was. TripAdvisor says it's temporarily closed, but it looks like it's actually open now.
We are so glad we found it. The villa is hugely impressive, with the detailed mosaic floors largely in tact and even parts of wall frescos and the underfloor heating system visible. The exhibits are interesting, tech enabled and really enhance the experience.
Highly recommended! Plus there is a car park behind which is a good base from which to explore Spoleto!

The mosaics together with clever projections of artists recreation of the house and its rooms really are worth a visit. Combine with a walk along the Roman aqueduct to get a good sense of Roman life in ancient Spello

Cool floor mosaics, with great graphic 3D reproductions of what it must have looked like 2,000 years ago.

Gave you insight how people lived back in that time.
Very surprising for small towns. Beautiful workmanship and how long it has lasted

We did a Viator tour that included the Mosaics . It was very good, but they can be done on your own, to help you understand how old Spello is!

Beautiful mosaics and captivating look at Roman villa discovered during excavation for a parking lot. So nicely sheltered and preserved, a true complement to beautiful Spello, city of art and flowers. The

We came for an afternoon visit having spent some time looking round Spello. The mosaics are very beautiful and well preserved, and the museum has interesting multimedia exhibits about the villa and Roman life as well as hands on mosaics designs. We learned a lot and really enjoyed our visit.
