Interesting man although the story is on a board further up the high street rather than at the statue itself.

Me and Hubby enjoyed a walk around Bala today (Wednesday). When you walk down the main High Street (from either direction), the main feature which you just can't miss is this imposing statue of Tom Ellis (born 16.2.1859 and died aged 40 on 5.4.1899). He was a prominent Welsh Liberal politician originating from the Bala area. The bronze statue was crafted by Sir William Goscombe-John (a sculptor from Cardiff) and was unveiled in 1903.…
