by the dozen. There are two places in which the boat will take you, our boat chose the place where there was no restaurant, bar or anything (the bar that used to be there has been closed down). So, as soon as we got out of the boat the monkeys started to come, even a mom carrying her little one on her back. my 12 yr old was beyond joy!!!

Speed boat ride down this river is so beautiful, stopping a various spots, the light house and Little Lencois. Lunch at a little beach restaurant at the end, staying 3 hours or so where you can rent a quad, go for a walk or relax in a hammock. Then the boat trip back (1 hour) to Barreirinhas. This day trip is worth doing.

We went by boat from Barrareinhas to Atins. About 3,5 hours inclusive a nice lunch at the end in one of the fish restaurants. We had a great guide so he showed and explained a lot about the trees, flowers and birds along the way. We had a little stop to see the light house. You can visit it for free to see the area, the village itself is outdated.

Spent a full day out on Rio Preguiças with the family. Stopped at a few places along the river to get food and drinks and just relax. At one of the stops we saw a wild monkey out behind the restaurant but he was shy did not come down to see us.
Excellent day trip for a family with teenagers. Very small children would have a harder time because it’s a long day in the sun and a lot of walking in sand at the stops.

Although very touristic, a trip to Rio Preguiças is a must! The speed boat trip is super fun and if you like a splash, sit on the very back. At the arrival at the Rio, you have local handcrafts, native monkeys all around and the friendly locals and food. A walk from the Rio to the ocean shore is a must!

The course is wonderful, the region is of a natural beauty out of the ordinary, mangroves, river beaches in the middle of the river, which allows you to stop the boat on this sandbar and really swim in the river, is a delight. Birds, fish, a few gators, but you have to be lucky to see one, the calmness of the river bed and the arm running the waters of this river is something delicious, it's worth, but it's worth knowing, To see, touch the water, feel part of the place, integrate with all that nature, this will undoubtedly change you, it will make you better and think more about sustainability, nature gives us much more than we give For her and this relationship urgently needs to be rebalanced, the visit to the lazy river, I can guarantee you will give you inner peace, but much will act more in your daily life. Worth the visit and the boat trip.

I took a boat through the river from Barreirinhas to Atins. It was a fun and beautiful experience, with stopovers in small communities to see the attractions along the river (the lighthouse, the small portion of lençois maranhenses and the Caburé beach).

I do not remember how much we three paid for the boat service, but that pleasant and enjoyable boat trip it was worthy.
Preguiça means laziness, but during this journey, your senses will work quite a lot. The visitors will be able to see plenty of different trees, visit a well-maintained Brazilian Navy Preguiça lighthouse, and at the end, the Atlantic Ocean. You will certainly be impressed by the many differents views will be seen in one single day.
