This place is currently completely deserted! So sad. The Tinapa Lakeside Hotel is destroyed and abandoned. No monorail, nothing to see, nor explore. Just a wasted land of things that were once great.

I am utterly speechless by what I saw, although located at a very remote village in calabar, I have never seen a fog before it was my first time ever! Astonished.

I and friends went there for a tour. I love the good road network, the clean quiet and comfortable environment. The dinosaur structure was awesome. Also loved the mini trail I saw there. Everything was OK just to suggest that the reception can be improved on.

We had a tour of this once great dream to make Calabar great. And yes It was good at the beginning and then the dreamer left the scene. All I saw is a ghost town empty shopping stores, abandoned studio houses. The only thing barely alive is the monorail that takes guest to the summit hills conference centre and the lakeside hotel hosting mostly civil servants and politicians.

I have never seen any resort in Nigeria that is this huge and well planned and doubt if i will find! Its sad to see what this once-lovely place is turning into. From the layout of the environment, to the hotel itself, to the water park, the cable car, moribund mart, the lakeview huts - all of these are in poor conditions. The room are still in good shape but you can tell that it was once a paradise to be in. It left me sad and a bit angry that our Government cannot move in to salvage this tourist attraction. This place compete with world class resorts if well managed.....

This place is really nice. The lake side is the most beautiful one, much nicer than the one of the marina. The staff is great. The area is beautiful. The food is good. You have a water park, very cool. 100% recommendable for friends, couples, families and solo travelers

To think that this place which made me so proud the other time I visited could become so dilapidated in a short time is unimaginable. But it has happened. How can one even explain this? Sad sad

Tinapa was supposed to be Calabar’s main attraction, but I guess the government has been doing a bad job of maintaining it. No activity at this place except the games arcade. And the hotel of course still exists.

I visited Tinapa in August and was really saddened at what the place is now. The place seems deserted with almost all the shops closed.
The government needs to fully utilize the facility and make it more operational again!
