We stopped here on way back from Neuschwanstein and after the hustle of the castle this quiet little spot was exactly what we needed. The Abbey is free to visit and there are nearby parking lots for 4€. Don’t expect any English signage on the...More
This is a beautiful and peaceful site to see. The exterior and setting is amazing and the interior is stunning. They have a small restaurant with good food and they also serve the beer that is brewed at the abbey (which by the way is...More
A beautiful place to stop on the way. Also, they make their own schnapps in the abbey. There's a large variety of different tastes so make sure you try at least a few of them. Also, they say that there are only two monks in...More

We were there at off season also. I think that the brewery is mostly open in late Spring/Summer. There was no tour of the brewery when we were there. There is a small gift shop. You can walk into the church and see the inside, but no tour when we were there also. I have the impression that it is mostly a summer thing. There was nothing in the town really - a few woodcarving shops and some gasthouses. Linderhof palace is the big draw for that area.......
