One of best and most wanted spots around the area. The site is quite guest and foreigner-friendly. You can also hire locals to carry you alone the mountain way if you are uncomfortable with the height and steep road.

Challenging, for thrill-seekers. It is dangerous as well... not so suitable for kids at the mid-tiger leaping gorge.

I am a little bit afraid of heights so I hoped this wouldn't be too frightening. I'm glad I had my hiking poles with me. Also wear sunscreen! We had excellent weather conditions and during our hike it wasn't that dangerous. We took the upper...More

The power of the water (despite being there during low season) is evident. As we went during the low season, we didn't get throngs of tourists. We could take out time to walk around, take pictures without photo bombs. Of course, being the low season,...More

As we crossed from lijiang to Shangri la I had a foreboding feeling. The Yangtze River was brown with mud and up and down the river there were companies excavating for sand, stone and gravel. Really really ugly for what was supposed to be the...More

This is an attraction you must visit if you are passing from Lijiang to Shangrila. You have to climb down several long flights of stairs to get to the good viewing spots and climbing back up is tiring but the view was very good.

Be prepared to walk down and up the steep 1000 plus steps to the gorge viewing platform carrying your one year child. Otherwise you got to pay the 2 rickshaw bearers to carry both of you up and down.
