We did a 3 days trek there and it was very nice. At the beginning, the construction works are a little annoying... but few hours after it is wonderful :). We went up to the water ship tank, after it there is no more signs.......More

We were very lucky to visit on a day where the river was absolutely flowing and raging. It was loud and dominating and magnificent. This place is definitely worth a visit especially if you are as lucky as we were in seeing the river like...More

This is not as scenic as I had anticipated but is still worth visiting. My guide told me that Tiger Leaping Gorge got its name from a legend of a tiger who leaped from on rock on the Lijiang County side of the Yangtze River...More

Whilst the gorge was spectacular, the rugged snow capped mountain scenery driving there was just as excellent. Lots of stairs down to view the rushing water and off course, lots of stairs up. There were plenty of rest platforms in Bothe directions, or if you...More

This place is well designed for the city slicker in patent leather shoes at one point (upper Gorge), with plenty of signage, parking and very safe viewpoints. Oh, and of course, bazillions of people. The middle Gorge is the exact opposite. Directions are hard to...More

To tell the truth I was a bit disappointed by the gorge, but then I was probably expecting too much. The road there is a bit hair raising, but not any worse than many others. The water levels was a bit low with the consequence...More

2D1N is a tough first day and the second had nothing much to it, simple walks. 3D2N would have allowed us to venture deeper, further and hopefully to more challenging parts as well.

We visited in April when the water levels were in mid flow. It must be amazing when it is in full flood! Worth the walk down to see the rocks and water close up, but it’s quite a steep climb back up unless you’re prepared...More

At first we weren’t sure if we would go as it was a bit expensive for a day trip. However, we decided we couldn’t miss it. We got a car to the upper part of the gorge and weren’t disappointed. Although it was busy, it...More

I wouldn't know about you but the mountains back home look like dirt mounds compared to this beast. Bit shame with the construction going on but it ain't close to as bad as the comment make it seem.

I presume you are talking about the ladder on the route up from the middle gorge below Tina's. There was no ladder on the trail down, so you might be able to come back up the "down" trail. There were people who came down... More

It depends on the angle you want to cover. I usually use a 6.7 mm Nikkor wide angle lens that covers 135 degrees, which is great because it does not distort the image.
