Visited Dao Heuang Market on Sunday. Most of the permanent buildings were closed, and the market was not different with any other Lao markets (selling fruits, vegetables; muddy floors). One exceptional feature: there are plenty of money exchanges offering good rates especially from/to USD and...More

These local markets are just so much fun to visit - there is so much happening and the variety of foods and stuff for sale is incredible. We wandered around for a few hours taking it all in.

very crowded by locals - and like all markets in Asia, you find everything - good veggies and fruits.... nothing is cheap for tourists in Laos, but locals deserve it - locals are friendly and helpful

Spent several hours wandering through this market; the colours, the displays, fresh veggies, meat area, fish area, live produce, clothes, shoes, bags, etc. etc. A fabulous market

We thought it was quite extensive and selling all sorts of things. Lot's of food but household items too. We expect it's the main shopping area for the town.

This is where you see people and locals just doing their thing. Lots to see and be amazed by. We love visiting the local markets such as this to get a real feel of the place.
