This was a really nice place to visit, hike around, learn some stuff, relax, and enjoy the views. We also met some really nice people there, both local Thai and foreigners. I very much enjoyed being there.

I had a nice peaceful time walking up to the Buddha, which wasn't too hard but was hot! Then I went down the other side over the cable bridge and the old volcano. It's worth a look around for an hour or 2. There were more things to see but way too far on foot.

This extinc volcano remains in good shape and the crater is clearly seen.
The hilltop enshrines Phra Suphattharabophit, Buriram's large Buddha image. Nearby is the Khmer sanctuary that houses Buddha footprint. A rare species of tree, called Yoni Pisat, literally means devil’s some secret body path, is found on the hilltop.
At the foot of the hill is a reservoir where many wild birds live.

I had a morning run at Khao Kradong. It is about 10 km away from the city center and not far from Chang arena. You can have road, trail as well as crater run. It is safe because it is famous for runners. You will see many runners a long the way

A place with historical information and a very nice panorama view of the city which you can see 360 around Buriram

We didn’t have time to explore the grounds but did enjoy going to the top of the sleeping volcano and pay respects to the giant golden Buddha. Very cool because you can see the skyline of the city and it’s a peaceful atmosphere.

Bit of history here as you climb up an ancient volcano through a beautiful forest and end up on a plateau with a giant Buddha. There’s a nice viewing area with stunning views over Buriram. There’s also a small shop for refreshments, a chap will take your photo and frame it for a mere 150thb and there’s a toilet should you need it. We cheated and drove the car up but if you are fit and don’t mind the heat the 300 and something steps could be your option. Well worth the visit though either way!

Worth a trip, but for a foreigner with no close connection to buddhism, this is "one of many" - though the size is imressive. Nice location but off the road. If I had only one day in Buriram I would not spend it here...

Very disappointing to see so much rubbish dumped in and around the large buddha.
As a so called tourist site thai government still doesn't get it; tourists like clean places to visit, l can visit a rubbish dump back home.
There were several employees just sitting around talking & on their mobile phones.
Rubbish laying all over the place!
When the tourist stop coming they will scratch their head wondering why?
