This is the quintessential mountain in New Zealand. Most photographed etc. It is spectacular. Not to be missed. Hopefully you will see it in it's entirety. Usually the weather does not permit.

This is a recognizable peak because of its special cone top. We loved seeing it as it seems to appear on so many of the popular NZ postcards, a must-see in Fiordland!

You can see Mitre Peak whist you stand on the jetty before boarding your boat. It is magnificent and at the heart of the sound. Truly sunning, a must see.

Mitre Peak and the Milford sounds are just majestic. To be able to see such incredible scenery in our own country makes us very lucky indeed. Everyone should try to get there at least once - I fell in love with it!

This is an absolutely lovely peak, that - depending on the weather - you can view while taking a cruise in Milford sound. The peak is covered with ice several months a year, but even watching it bare was a beautiful experience.

The boat trip along Milford Sound took us to Mitre Peak which to say the least is immensely impressive. Unable through disability to approach it on land, the only alternative is the small boat. On the way it passes several waterfalls which multiply after rainfall....More
