There are so many amazing waterfalls in Cherraounji and Wakaba falls is one of them. You can access to this fall via a entry gate where you need to pay an entrance fee. Also, there are several view points at various level once you go down the steps to view this waterfall. Do check out our 'The Ultimate Guide To Cherrapunji: Discover Spectacular Waterfalls & Living Root Bridges' on our website to discover more of cherrapunji's hidden gems. Website link given in the profile/bio.

With more than 20 falls in and around Sohra, I would like to call this small town - A City of FALLS!!! If you travel during rainy season (of course without fearing heavy rain and fear of getting wet), you will enjoy it and understand the powder of nature.

The beauty of a waterfall is best seen in the glory of Monsoons when everything is full of life giving water. As rains recede some of the beauty of these places diminish and Falls come to a trickle.
When we visited Shillong and Cherrapunjee in December most of the waterfalls had little water. On the roadside when we halted at Wah-kba fall we explored the place. From the roadside viewpoint it is just a gorge. We went down the steps and came across a still active waterfall and the hills beyond showed that in monsoons it must be a real beauty with water falling from hills to thousands of feet below.
A good place to enjoy the beauty of nature.

It was a good 15minutes of going down the uneven steps. Once there it was magical,Mysterious and mesmerizing. It automatically brought a meditative feeling. The calm and still waters before the fall and a seat of the rock was all I could have asked for.

It was a steep climb down the hill, though it was along a well paved path with protective railing. Of course the view of the valley below was breathtaking, and the air crisp. When we finally did reach the falls,I was a bit disappointed. I was more impressed with the reddish hue of the rocks than the water falls. The volume of water was minuscule. The walk up was difficult too. Definitely not for the weak kneed.

Another finest waterfall, after Nohkalikai in Sohra.. Little trekking of almost 400 steps would require to see beauty of this falls (Actually there are two falls, one on the halfway, and real gem at the last).... But its worth the pain... Steps are not that much in great shape, which is normally excellent at any tourist place (doesn't matter how far) in meghalya, railing are also in need of repair at some place...Take care of your children and yourself...not to worry but need to be careful..

Overall beautiful place

Wakaba Falls is situated on your way from Shillong to Cherrapunji. I visited the place in December and there was not even a small flow water. In order to see the real beauty, one must visit the place during monsoon or else you can get a bit frustrated.

Definitely worth a visit. Great views from here as well. These waterfalls are really very pretty but often people miss seeing them, as they are not in the tourist route

This was one of the first few ocations we visited for our day tour in Sohra. the waterfall is quite interesting. Our driver took us till the actual entrance of the flls and we had to pick and choose whether to go right or left. unfortunately we took the wrong path and couldn't reach the tail of the waterfall. But whatever steps we took, it was magical to look at. I have a detailed video on youtube channel "Khushi NotOnlyMakeup" check out the Playlist - Meghalaya with Khushi.

It's a not to miss place.
Beautiful view.
One needs to climb many steps to reach to the waterfall but once you get there it is really amazing.
