It's a mid-sized (diameter under half a km) garden, well maintained and clean. It has a lot if greenery with many tall trees and flowering plants, large butterflies fluttering around, a couple of attractive green houses worth seeing and a view of Bangladesh plains below from the garden's edge.

Helps those not having the fitness to do the double decker root bridge trek have the satisfaction of having seen another 'point'. 😅

You can spend your leisure time walking around the park but I would say not a must visit place.

There are few view points and a nature trail to walk around but no activities to do.

We felt it was just like any other ordinary park.

It if you are on a crunch time skip it. If you are in for photography like pre wedding or post wedding photography - this May be a very good place !

The park is about 6-7 kms from the 7 sister falls and about half the way has broken roads. You can visit if you have some time to spare as it is beautifully maintained and offers great views if the sky is clear of the cloud. There is a waterfall you can see, and some landforms which locals say is Bangladesh. It is very peaceful inside the park, with a beautiful breeze, water fountains and some swings for the kids. It has an entry ticket but nominally priced and they do not allow you to take any plastic bottles inside. Out side the park there are souvenir shops offering the basic stuff.

It is a normal park and no need to travel so long. Road is broken many places and no road for many kms. Don't waste your time.

Thang Kharang is the name of the vilage and literally means burning fish. In olden times on weekly market day fires were built and fresh whole fish were skewered and roasted around these fires. The fish mainly came from East Pakistan now Bangladesh and was reputed to be fresh and very tasty. The park situated in this village maintained by the Forest Deptt Of the State Govt is an example of how well organisations can be run if persons employed are dedicated and true to their work. I think the Meghalaya Government should take this park as a living example and import it to all its Departments as a learning and doing experience. Very very simple and rustic persons maintain the park but their pride to produce a haven of bliss for the weary tourist is highly commendable. The park is truly an island of Peace, Beauty & Joy. The view of Bangladesh and the valley on a clear day is something to experience.I commend the workforce of the Park for their loyalty and devotion to the conservation of Nature.

Thangkharang Park is nice park at Cherrapunjee. It is situated close to the Khoh Ramhah rock, just a bit outskirt of the Cherrapunjee town. There are well maintained gardens, attractive fountain, open play areas with rides for children’s enjoyment and a greenhouse with various species of plants & trees in the park. Thangkharang Park is maintained by the Department of forests and Environments, Government of Maghalaya.

Thangkharang Park is one of the main attractions of Cherrapunji. Lying next to the Khoh Ramhah rock, this park offers a nice view of Bangladesh. You can also treat your eyes to the lovely views of the Kynrem falls that gush down in 3 levels. The park also has 2 foot bridges offering wonderful views of the expansive lush valleys and the plains. Another popular attraction that lies in Thangkharang Park is the Khoh Ramrah rock, which is popularly known as the Shiva Rock. Placed right opposite the entry gate of the park, this huge rock is in the shape of a lingam.

The road is being constructed but the location takes away all the pain of traveling to the spot. But weather can be a spoilsport.
