This is starting place where the water collects and the falls start

This is the beginning point of the falls, where all the water collected during rains start flowing, and can get a good view of the falls going down the mountain.

While at Cherrapunji, we friends decided to spend an evening in the wilderness and quiet. Towards the sunset, we moved towards Dain-Thlen-Falls. Being 26th January, the Indian Republic Day and a holiday, the place was really overcrowded with people enjoying a break around plenty of refreshment stalls. The atmosphere was festive indeed. The falls themselves are amazing with water literally... More

May be we were in wrong season. All of Cherrapunjee was very dry. This fall was just like a tap water and there was no water flowing even before the fall. Definitely it is my right to visit this from November to May. Place was good but dried out.

This is yet another beautiful place. get off the bike or car walking is far better. You can admire the naturally cut rocks and see thru how the clear water flows. Best visited during Aug-Oct as it would full. The color of the rocks is unique. You can find the locals cook and have a picnic time. If u are... More

The one specialty in this falls is combination of rocks and falls. Other falls have a greener surrounding as compared to this one. Hence this offers variety .Tehe beauty however is unmistakably good.

Dain Thlen Falls is located 7 km from the Shillong - Sohra road after Sa-I-Mika Resort. It can also be reached via the Laitduh road. The best feature about this waterfall are the pools of water on top of the falls which are enticing for one to take a dip. The waterfalls is associated with a local legend of a... More

We went during a dry month and could only imagine, how beautiful it would during the monsoons. One of the few places where u can actually get drenched in Cherrapunjee.

Just before reaching Sohra, a road to the right, leads one to the falls which is 5 kms away. Among the many falls that Cherrapunjee boasts of, Dain Thlen Falls is also one of the famous falls. Many tourists flock the falls especially as it has an interesting legend associated with it.

Ask your taxi to take you to this spot as you cant see this during a conducted bus trip.More beautiful during rainy season. If a couple is visiting this place avoid going lonely although it is safe. 3 and above people should go there. Its a bit lonely during winter season.
