Very good place to spend a day

Apart of the heat this is a good place to visit. Can gather lot of knowledge and enjoy wide view of the city.

The fort had its own romantic and war history with different architectural elements to get amazed! The fort can be visited in the morning and evening hours as afternoons can get very hot in summers (who doesn't love winters). Be sure to carry a bottle of water as you can get dehydrated while visiting the whole area. Stay safe.

The entire fort is maintained quite well and has all the element people go looking for when they go to see a fort. A large part of the fort is closed off which are the upper floors due to safety reasons and the equipment reasons for the light and sound show. The fort does not take very long to see,... More

The fort is on a hill but one can take a car almost upto the mahal so it was not so taxing to climb. The mahals were massive with a literal maze under the main floor. The circular rooms in the basement had special arrangements to bring in natural light. A must see. The sahastra bahut mandir was also nice.... More

The auto drops you to starting point of fort or gate and from there you have to hire fort local taxi to... More

Huge fort, still very good in position, nice to watch/explore this p[lace. But I feel that some some maintenance activities should be performed and keep some street hood lambs and lovebirds away from these kind of historic places. As it is a isolated places and many couple would be doing inappropriate things at some places (writing names on walls and... More

I was n't sure whether we should make the effort to go to Gwalior. We were so pleased we did. The Gwalior Fort is truly amazing. The photos don't show how large the fort is. It would be even more amazing if the gold roof was restored as well as the tiles on the fort. Even so, definitely worth a... More

Auto rickshaw to Urvai gate and walked up. Able to get very close to the Jain carvings. Fort fascinating. Did not bother walking back to the other temples included in the palace ticket. Walked down east side. Spent a good two hours.
