The gwalior fort is in good condition, well maintained and preserved. The blue and purple colours terra cotta paint is still there. Fort located at a great height. Must visit if you are in gwalior.

The Gwalior fort is only fort which could not be won in any battle , its architecture is amazing and very calculative .. outer wallas still shining with 400 years old paint .. One must surely visit best time to visit September to February

The Gwalior Fort is kept in pretty good condition. The original Terra cotta paint is still intact. The fort has a museum on the premises.The Databandi chhod Gurudwara is worth a visit too.

Parking is just 200 meters from entrance, YES,It is open all days.

Some part of the fort is always under renovation. Don't think it should restrict photography though.
Is it possible to be dropped at the Gwalior gate and then walk in ? Is it possible to walk up from the road?
