Beautiful church

This Danish church from the 13th century is one of the landmarks in Ystad. Very well preserved, and often, music is played inside.

Still look decent after all the changes and damages taken during centuries. Started as A Romanesque church in 13th century, then turned into Gothic, then rebuilt and a new Baroque was added. So...we dont know what it is, it looks odd but nice. The old city around is what brings flavor to it. Ystad old town is great. The church... More

It was raining the morning we were in Ystad visiting the sites from the Wallander novels. We popped into the church to dry off and read our tourist info. Enjoyed the church, being dry and a moment of quiet.

Santa Maria church is 750 years old. You can see wunderful pictures and old wooden chairs. The church is situated in the center of the town, near the big square. If you come to Ystad you must visit it.

Visit the museum and the church. You may also see the great rose garden outside for free and the herbs garden. This is a nice quiet part of Ystad to enjoy.

I stopped by in winter and it was cosy and warm, the atmosphere is lovely and the interior is lovely. My main desire to see it is to hear the night watchman at 2115-0100 every 15 minutes blow his horn to alert the city to its safety. This happens all year round!

As per headings of several recent reviews, its a church that's 'worth a visit'. There are a number of interesting paintings, frescoes, and other artefacts.
