About
Winter lays snow on hills rising over pagoda roofs. Summer colours local fields barley-gold. All year round spring water bubbles in the glen. As alive as that day in 1886 when our founder William laid the first stones that built one of the oldest family-owned Scotch whisky distilleries. Join us at Glenfiddich, in the Valley of the Deer. Glenfiddich Distillery Visitor Centre offers distillery tours, distillery gift shop and whisky lounge serving speciality teas, coffees, a selection of home made cakes, whiskies and other refreshments.

    Glenfiddich distillery tour
Five star is not enough. Mary our guide was excellent, very friendly and very informative. Shop assistants were so helpful,we were unable to book online tour as sold out but they told us we could try to get a walk in space. Cafe/Whisky bar staff excellent , food very good. Cannot recommend this distillery enough. Been to several over the years but this one was by far the best

    Stormy Monday, cute mustache
What else do you need a slightly stormy Monday, than visit the Glenfiddich Distillery? Only the shop was open unfortunately, but the staff compensates for missing out on a tour. I have been alone anyway, so there was no chance I can try any drums. I work in hospitality and having a couple of days off I always try to discover places I haven’t been before, Scotland is a magical place with the many distilleries and fantstic scenery for a woman like me, who comes from the land locked Hungary. I was aimlessly wondering in the shop, checking out the beautiful products, the quirky hats and the awesome antler decorations, when the nicest gentleman I have ever met approached me. He had a great mustache, cheeky smile and good sense of humour, unfortunately don’t know his name, but I am going to work around this area for 3 months, so I am definetely going to come back and thank him his wonderful hospitality and the kind gifts I have recieved with the XX I have bought. The wee taster bottle I have got contained a really lovely drum, I enjoy it right now as I write this review. Please, Glenfiddich, give this employee a raise, he does worth every penny! He has made my day. Unfortunately the Aberlour Distillery what he suggested for me to go is under reconstructions and the shop is jot open on Mondays, but never mind. Thank you for everything. xxx Tunde Meszaros

    A Must Do
Brilliant time soaking-up the history, culture - and indeed the whisky - of Glenfiddich and its sister distillery Balvenie. Mary our guide was the best of the best, and Stephen in the shop was equally informative and helpful. Cannot recommend enough.

    A solid and worthwhile experience
Our tour guide was knowledgeable, with a straightforward delivery. He was far from humorless, though, and was warm and funny during the tasting portion. The setting was beautiful, with many old buildings and trees. If I were going to go to on only one distillery tour (we did four, so we can compare), I would do this one. (And for the record, one is enough, as the tours are quite repetitive.)

A really enjoyable visit and whisky tasting.
We visited Glenfiddich distillery after a trip out of Keith on the Whisky line (highly recommended) The visitors centre is just a short walk away from the railway station so it made sense. This was the first time I had been to the still since 1987 and I was highly impressed with the tour that we got. ( Booked in advance). The new still house they have added in recent years is just awesome . Our guide for the tour was very enthusiastic and knowledgable on all aspects of the History of Glenfiddich . He also had great knowledge in the art of whisky making. He managed to impart this knowledge in an interesting and humorous manner. We all enjoyed the whisky tasting session at the end of the tour. My personal favourite was the 15 year old 🥃😊You got 4 drams to try which was really good value for your £20 admission fee. I have to confess to spending a small fortune in the distillery shop on the way out. The tour ended with just enough time to get back to the station for a cup of tea and a fancy piece at the sidings restaurant ( highly recommended) before the return journey on the Whisky train to Keith . We enjoyed a few more drams and roosty nails before we arrived. Great day out. 🥃🥃🥃

    Interesting and Enjoyable
Our hotel suggested we go here despite many other options within a short drive. The tour is very well organised and the guides speak many languages which was good as there were a few different nationalities in our group. The history of the place is so interesting and you learn lots about the distilling process and see many different aspects of how they make it and how it goes from the grain to the bottle, the tour lasted about an hour and we both left satisfied with our choice. There is a gift shop also with standard and very expensive bottles, we chose the cheapest LOL. A great hour or so spent.

    Excellent tour and tasting
Visited the distillery whilst visiting Dufftown and other distilleries in the area. The tour and tasting was excellent. You get to sample 4 whiskies, 3 from Glenfiddich's core range and one more exclusive one that can be found in the shop for over £100 a bottle. Our tour guide (Moraig) was fantastic and very knowledgeable. In addition to the tour the shop and whisky bar are well worth visiting.

    Good tasting
The distillery is very neat and looks very cool. We could not do a tour, but the tasting was lovely. We took a bit of whisky's that were funky and they turned out great. The atmosphere was pleasant and at the end we got a free fancy whisky. This is a lovely stop to taste the Scottish water.

    Fabulous day out!!
We visited here today for my mums birthday and it was brilliant. From the warm welcome from the lady on reception to Brian and his abundant knowledge of the distilling process and whisky it was very memorable. The facilities are incredible and so clean and the hand wash smells amazing!! Would definitely recommend to anyone who has never been to a tour to do one here. With extra special thanks to Brian for treating mum for her birthday with a taster of the 28yr old malt!

    Glenfiddich Distillery
The drive to the distillery was remarkable in itself. The tour was very informative and learnt about how liquor is taxed in the UK and how it handles the disappearing Angel's share. You may walk away wit a cask f you can lift one up on your back! There ws a small ask from my birth yea values at about 2 million pounds

Having been through a lot of distilleries we just wanted to stop in, have a look at the shop and have a whisky flight in the whisky lounge. The shop is definitely aimed at a certain level of buyer, really beautiful products with a high price point (although there were still a few more wallet friendly items) but it seemed as if the staff were embarrassed by the price points as we overheard a conversation one of the staff members was having on the shop floor with a customer. Seemed a little unprofessional.
We then went to the whisky lounge which sadly when you move to the prestige aiming feel of the shop, slipped quite a bit.
More hotel lobby feel than whisky bar. We ordered some flights, weren't offered water and weren't walked through what the drams were. They were just delivered and "enjoy" A simple change in background music selection would go a long way to shifting the feel from lobby to lounge. ABBA and 80s pop is at odds with what the brand seems to (I think) be aiming for in terms of quality of experience.
A stark difference to the feel at the bar at Glenlivet. Where we were warmly greeted, offered water upon sitting down, were walked through the details of the whisky flights we had selected and they came back partway through the flight to check everything was ok and ask how we were enjoying the whisky. It had a really great ambience too, beautifully decorated and lit.

Not our first visit to Glenfiddich.... Sadly it was largely disappointing and just a bit odd.
Tired? Perhaps there's plans to open a more grand bar/lounge? But even then the current set up could be great with a bit of love and attention poured in.

Very complete visit and explanations. I think our guide’s name was Mary (but I´m not sure. She was Scottish, born and bred there in Speyside region and both she and her family worked for Glenfiddich for ages). She obviously knows very well what she is talking about and left no question without answer – and I have to say that I asked a lot. As my husband was driving, they gave him a kit with small bottles so he could put the samples and drink everything at night at the hotel.
The distillery is in a beatiful place and the way (we arrived coming from Aberdeen) is so lovely that we stopped several times by Spey river on our way to Glenfiddich and after, on our way to Inverness. It also worth to walk a couple of minutes (no more than that) to see the ruins of the Balvenie castle, just in front of the distillery, and take some beautiful pics. It´s free and takes no more than 5 or 10 minutes. At the distillery there is a nice shop where we had a tasty coffee but I saw also cakes and some sort of snacks. But pay attention to the working hours because as everything in UK even the coffee shop closes really early – something like 3 or 4 pm.

This was my 2nd whisky distillery tour right after Macallan. The experience was so personalised and different, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

A family-owned business, the tour may be not as commercialised or fancy compared to Macallan but it was just as or more informative and more personalised in my opinion. We got to see the entire production which covered indoor and outdoor spaces. It was definitely educational and informative and I loved the warehouse visiting part where we could see all the actual casks waiting to be bottled and nosed some too (this was not available in the other brand's tour). I liked that during the tasting stage, we were brought into what looked like a science lab and we got to try the various whiskies in different casks (bourbon, oak, sherry, solar). I learnt so much about the alcohol content and how each one is different and how to appreciate the whiskey. We even got to mix our own blend and bottle it home. The amount of whiskey we were allowed to bottle was rather large and I thought it was very generous of them. This was definitely very customised and personable, a once in a lifetime experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. The guide was also very friendly, approachable and made the experience great!

At the gift shop, I purchased a distillery exclusive bottle and that involves personalisation at every stage from choosing the bottle, cleaning, filling it, choosing the cork, box and even a handwritten label. It was amazing!

I would highly recommend guests to visit the Glenfiddich Distillery.

Upon arrival the team were friendly and welcoming, and extended this throughout the tour. It was informative from the start, talking through the family history as well as the brand history before extending into the sequence of whisky making by walking around each part of the site in turn. Having dive a fair few tours, I learned quite a bit throughout this one - especially the details around Solera and some of the casking elements. It was really thorough, and no questions were too much for our host Morag who gave us some fantastic insights which really brought the brand and the products to life. One of a few highlights was the tasting room where we got to taste the various casks and mix one of our own! It was good fun and I would recommend this to anyone seeking to understand the full process and get a feel for the Glenfiddich brand and generations of family ownership which have retained their authenticity.

Morag did a super job on the Glenfiddich Solero tour. Great opportunity to see all areas of spirit production and also thorough experience in the warehouse to see the Solero process and and sample whisky from the VAT. At the end you get the opportunity to blend your own whisky using American oak, European Oak and Sherry casks to your %. Lovely facility and good to hear the history and heritage of this distillery which is still
Family owned.

We stopped into their tasting room while on a guided tour for the day of Speyside. What a wonderful experience that we had in their tasting room. Beautiful decor and the staff was efficient and attentive. Our group of six adults ordered a few bits to eat and we chose all three of the tasting collections. Everyone was able to sample all of them. Highly recommend visiting their gift shop too, even if you won't be doing a tour with them.

Called in yesterday for a visit to the distillery producing a Scotch that I have been drinking for 50 years.
There was a small group occupying the staffs attention bottling a personal edition. My wife and I waited patiently for this and browsed the shop.
When this concluded a few others had entered the store.
We received a brief nod from the male staff and complete lack of any acknowledgement from the female as she walked past a number of times.
We decided at that point to leave.
Headed off to Glen Moray and were treated decently. Purchased Worlds best single malt Scotch 2024 Phoenix Rising, and this will become my preferred whisky.
Very disappointed

Our favorite distillery among the ones we visited - big enough to be interesting but not so big as to be impersonal. Our guide was super knowledgeable but also personal and informal - not canned.
