We stopped in for a visit to GlenFiddich and the castle is within walking distance. We got there too late to go in but the castle looked awesome. This is also a good spot to see highlands cows, small farm next to castle. Be respectful...More

A semi ruin that has many areas you may climb and discover. Just standing there in the middle of nowhere is this beautiful piece of history!

I particularly liked walking through the ruins reading the plaques about where the reception rooms, chambers, servants quarters, fire places, latrines, kitchen, oven and well etc had been. I liked climbing...More

This ruined castle made for some pretty pictures, although most of the best pictures could be taken from outside. We paid to enter and it didn't take long to get through the remaining rooms and courtyard area. Depending on how many ruined castles you've seen...More

The castle is managed by Scottish Heritage, although my family entered without charge as members of English Heritage. The visit to the ruined rooms and towers took about half an hour.
