This is an important site to visit, a sad history that should not be forgotten. It is a somber visit, difficult to understand how people could be so cruel to other people. Restored well, info cards in English available.

Hard to rate a concentration camp visit on scale of terrible to Excellent, doesn't seem to have any relevance. It deserves great publicity and promotion that it currently gets given it's tragic history. . That said we found it interesting, and a terrible minder of...More

Unfortunately as we don't speak Dutch, we didn't understand the majority here. There were a few signs in English in one part and a small leaflet which gave an overview of the camp but didn't help with what we were looking at. The majority of...More

The entire museum part of the camp was in Dutch. It looked like they had a good amount of information, but nothing we could understand. Being able to read is vital as much of the camp no longer exists. Could have been quite interesting if...More

We visited on a rainy day, this seemed very fitting. It was very moving to visit and further understand what happened. Very sad, but a worthwhile visit and tribute.

This low key historical site and small museum illustrates the reach of the Nazi death machine. The information is in Dutch but the pictures tell the story. Take the walk to the firing squad and reflect on walking out, where so many walked only one...More

We felt a bit cheated by our visit here. Really wanted to visit here along with husband and 16 year old son - we spent about an hour walking here, only to find that there was no English information provided. There were guided tours going...More

Camp Amersfoort was one of three Nazi concentration camps in Holland. It operated from July of 1941 until April of 1945. Although it was not on a scale like those in Germany or Poland, it was just as deadly a preview of hell for its...More
