The authentic gabares of Croisieres de Saint-Cirq Lapopie perpatuate the tradition of the Lot's gabare-men. Our captains, sailors and lock guards welcome you to the land of gabare-men for a moment of discovery and pleasure on the river.

The river Lot will offer you exceptional views on the perched village of Saint-Cirq Lapopie, the limestone cliffs, the towpath dug into the rock, the old watermill etc.

You may choose between the 7 Wonders Cruise (1h20 round trip) and the Hiking Cruise (1h10 one-way trip and return on foot on towpath of 1h30).

Bon voyage.

A beautiful medieval village on a hillside. Narrow meandering streets, boat trips, walks, views. Just lovely. Reasonably priced parking nearby.

Great view down from the height. Of the village. There are a couple of restaurants and not all are open every day. Parking is in lots outside the village and it is a reasonably steep walk in. Pay to park before 7pm. We could find no public toilets here.

A favourite thing to do with my visitors, a lazy peaceful boat trip along the Lot, gazing up at the limestone cliffs and St Cirq Lapopie. It is also possible to walk along the tow path to St Cirq and catch the boat back

We ventured on small roads to Cirq Lapopie on the recommendation of our innkeeper and we're glad we went. The surrounding countryside was extremely beautiful and the little village is charming if rather busy with visitors even in May.

Thank you Sandra S, Saint Cirq Lapopie is indeed a very nice village, tipical of France's middle age. Another way to discover it is by the river, on its towpath between Bouzies and Saint Cirq Lapopie or by boat. See you soon on the river ! More

Interesting, picturesque stone buildings, beautiful scenery, full of tourists, over hyped and very expensive .

Pleasant way to spend an hour and a quarter on the river Lot. Commentary in french but we didn't ask for an English version. Plenty to see and photograph. Very sweet lady in ticket office speaks excellent English. 11 euros per person.

Amazing village awarding the prettiest village in France. A day visit to this village, very busy with tourists with lots of little bars and shops to keep you busy.

We really enjoyed the different views especially of St Cirq lapopie from the river. The carvings in the rock are really worth seeing and it was certainly an experience going through the lock. The English commentary was OK but could be much better. The french commentaries from the captain and crew are much longer and because we understand French quite... More

Thank you CakeMum_13, We are currently working on a new version of the commentary for 2015, mixing the story of the 19th century bargeman (and therefore the use of the gabares back in those days), some live commentaries of the captain and some peaceful music. Our goal is to offer an extraordinary gabarier experience to all of our clients, in... More

Smashing trip on an open (or closed in bad weather) boat. You can also hire you own little boat if you wish. Nice guides who can answer your questions. Multi-language translators available. Stunning scenery. A lot of help was offered to our 2 disabled passengers (one on crutches, one in a wheelchair)
