We had a great time with Carlos. Immediately we saw a sloth moving in the trees (before we started the hike). Then we saw another brown face sloth with a few day old baby sleeping and snuggling. We saw many poison dart frogs as well and our guide was very quick to point out all of the many species of frogs.

We also saw another sleeping sloth and a baby (6 month) sleeping in its own. They’re so sweet and we loved seeing them in their natural habitat!

Gracias por todo Carlos!!!

I recently visited the sloth sanctuary with my sister and her family. We had the pleasure of having Carlos as our tour guide. He was patient, friendly, knowledgeable and fluent in English. The grounds were well kept. We saw several sloths, cool plants and birds. I highly recommend!

After our tour of Rio Celeste, we found Bijagua Ranas, a quaint outdoor restaurant not far from the national park. We were quite a bit after the lunch hour, but they gave us 4 options, beef, chicken, fish or fajitas. The food was great. But, the added value of this amazon stop included a tour of their gardens that included a face-to-face encounter with a sloth, poison dart frogs, cutter ants and a red-eyed tree frog. From an animal view perspective, this was better than the tour of the waterfalls and volcano. Look for Viviana, she was so helpful and so great with our group of photographers.

We had the best tour. Alan was our guide and he took as much time as we needed which was two hours. We saw so many animals including a young sloth about two feet away. He kept taking photos for us through his binoculars and they are National Geographic quality. He had a telescope on a tripod so we could see all of the animals. I highly recommend this place. It was the highlight of our week in Costa Rica.

The tour was given by a teenager who was training a kid (probably 12?). The kid showed us what a goat and a goose was :) semi cute, semi scam. Pretty sure they didn’t have any formal training. But hey, we saw monkeys, sloths, a snake and a frog, three tucans so overall it was still fun.

Wow! This was our favorite thing we did in Costa Rica! Kenneth led us on a beautiful hike and taught us so much about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. We saw sloths, gorgeous birds, insects, and more! It’s such a beautiful and family-friendly hike and Kenneth was so amazing with our kiddos. My 3-year-old twins adored him and he held their hands or carried them on his shoulders for the hike. I would absolutely do this again and again and my only regret is that we waited to do this on our last day because I would've done it more than once.

This visit was one of the main highlights of our two weeks in Costa Rica. Our guide was Estefania (Stephanie). She was nothing less than amazing. During our 2 hour wask through the rain forest grounds she spotted seemingly invisible ankmals at every turn. A baby sloth just 9 months old had shown up at the property for the first time that morning! Watching the little female was mesmerizing.

Later, Estefania found a blue jeans poison dart frog, red eyed tree frogs, frog egg masses, beautiful birds including mot mots, and her first ever sighting of a hog nosed pit viper (up close).

It was all a wonder and she was the most delightful guide ever. Even a charming little pot bellied pig named Coquette loved her and followed us around for a while.

NOTE ABOUT TIPS: The guides are all expected to deposit tips they receive into a shared tip box. If you prefer to individually tip your own guide, please do it discretely and out of sight of the other employees.
