Iconic landmark of the Albula region. The very tall curved viaduct goes straight into the side of a mountain with a tunnel. As the line is on a sharp curve you get great views from the right hand side of the train.

This is an important and exciting aspect of the journey from Tirano to Chur on the Bernina Express. It takes one's breath away to look down into the gorge.

Travel by train along the Albula to Filisur, then walk back along the line to either the North or South viewing platforms, both are superb although you may have to wait 30m for a train to cross. Don't forget to go down under the viaduct...More

There are two large viaducts that cross the landwasser river - one near Wiesen and this one near Filisur. They are quite close to each other and easy to confuse. Both are beautiful, however the Wiesen one is much larger and more famous. You can...More

We spent the night in Filisur so we could see the Landwasser Viaduct, supposedly a milestone in Swiss engineering. It's okay. Simply okay. Don't make a special trip to see it, but if you're close by, it's a nice detour. When you get off the...More

There is walking path from Filisur to this place. You find it on the "Schweiz Mobil" map - Google has not everything on their data. The closest point for parking the car would be just off the street close to Solas Davains... More
