Beautiful, when there's no wind it's like swimming in crystal clear glass. The sand is so soft. It's busy, but it doesn't matter, all tourists so everyone keeps to themselves. 2 cup's to rent a lounger for the day. A drink runner for when you're relaxed and don't want to move. An adorable restaurant with decent food at a decent... More

We stayed at a resort 7km down the road and the beach at our resort was SO much better, cleaner and bigger. We chose to head to Pilar Beach as it was recommended by a friend. If you are staying in Cayo Guillermo, you can hop on a double decker bus for 5 peso (round trip) to take you to... More

We were excited to go to Pilar beach as we had heard such great things. Took the tour from the hotel and left early morning. Wish we would have gone later as the beach really is not great when the tide is in. Lots of debris and beach is small. Once the tide goes out it's gorgeous. Staff at the... More

We 've heard a lot of Playa Pilar, each trip we are basically ordered that it is a must see so, this trip we decided to at last go ahead and check that place. we paid 5 convertable pesos and took the double decker from our hotel in Cayo Coco to Playa Pilar, it as an hour and 20 minutes... More

We stayed at the Iberostar Playa Pillar and could walk to this beach via the sandbars which was amazing. The end of the beach away from the restaurant was lovely and quiet and you could hide from the masses (big catamaran trips head here so maybe head there early or later in the day). Beautiful white powder sand and crystal... More

We took the bus to Playa Pillar for an afternoon and enjoyed this gorgeous beach. It has changed a lot and is far more built up since we visited 7 years ago which is a shame. That was one of the great things about Pillar Beach was there was only the restaurant and no other resorts. Now there is construction... More

Nice beach, but nothing special. No additional attractions to be seen and you would still need a boat to reach the reef for snorkeling.

Located 1.6 km away. Daily run or walk. Watch for speeding construction dump trucks. From the beach you can take a bus which will take you around the islands, well worth it. I run to this beach everyday, really nice but short.

This is a great sandy white sand beach about 20 minutes from Iberostar Playa Pilar. You walk on a blue walkway for a few minutes from the road, then you pass a restaurant before arriving at a beautiful beach. Here you can rent a beach chair for $2 or sunbed for $10. There is also a place where you can... More
