We took the island bus from our hotel to the highly recommended Playa Pilar. After 1h20min ride we arrived as many many others did and went straight to the beach. Well it is beautiful for sure, but not that overwhelming as expected. The sand is like powder, water cristal clear and all, yes, but due to the crowd it was... More

Great time at the beach! We rented a chair for 2CUC and enjoyed a little snorkeling. The beach was quite busy but lots of chairs and beds available. Beds are available for 10CUC and include 3 drinks. There is also a restaurant on site. It smells great but I didn't get a chance to try it. There is a Catamaran... More

Beautiful beach to visit in the area. Waves are bigger than besides hotels, so you may not be able to swim, All services are paid, unless it's included in the excursion. Bed is 2 pesos and big sunbed is 10 pesos with 3 drinks included. Restaurant, bar and a marina center are all available on the beach. Bathrooms are just... More

For 3 pesos each hopped on a motorized train that pulled up in front of resort that took us to Pilar beach. This beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Snorkelling fantastic because water crystal clear for miles. Just off beach no fish but can take a boat out to a reef for about 25 pesos each... More

After reading all the reviews we HAD to go see this beach. We took the double-decker bus, which is super convenient and will drop you off at the start of a boardwalk that you follow through a few sand dunes, past a restaurant with restrooms and change rooms before you get to the beach. The day we went, the beach... More

We visited this beach as a ending to our catamaran tour (which we did twice). We stopped for an hour each time - there was a bar, washrooms and a place to get ice cream. the water was very clear, snorkeled from shore, saw several starfish. Beautiful place.

I LOVE this beach and the blue turquoise waters. The only reason i am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because since i first went there...it has become a little TOO popular with busloads of people arriving every 30 mins and for me i remember the quietness when there was no people or chairs or nautical so i...
