My kids and their friends loved their time surfing with Russell and the creq at Dead or Dread Surf Shop. We had 5 boys, ages 12 - 18 of varying athletic abilities and level surfing experience with us, and they were all up on their boards riding the waves all the way into shore by the end of the lesson. The kids all loved it. Their time with Dead or Dread was one of the highlights of the week. My wife even got to paddle boarding while the boys had their lesson. Will definitely do another lesson with them on our next trip to Barbados.

Had the best surf lesson, the teachers really did teach you well and I was standing up on the surfboard pretty quick. I will definitely come back and take another surfing lesson when I’m back in Barbados. Thank you all

We reached out at 7am to see if there was a chance to squeeze my husband in for a lesson and to our surprise, they got back to us right away and set up a 10am meet that same morning. We arrived at the shop, answered a few questions and then Russell put surfboards in his pick up and we followed him to Pebbles Beach. Couldn't have been any easier! Definitely going to reach out and set up more lessons when we return next winter. Russell and his girlfriend, who runs the shop, couldn't have been any nicer. Great people, wonderful experience and lots if memories to look back on. 🤟🌊🏄♂️

Best surfing instructor in my life, actually only tried surfing with Matthew. Matthew is a really professional, patient, knowledgeable and lovely instructor. He always smiled, sang songs and entertained trainees. I spent three days with him, never got upset. Even through the second day was kind of tough, he still encouraged me. The third day was wonderful, I made several long surfing with really good team members!
Highly recommend! Also, the store owners - Russel and Jasmine are super friendly and cute as well!

Ax and Ty are the best surfing instructor team me and my daughter Elle really liked them a lot and for our first time surfing they helped us and taught us very well. Elle loves surfing now and I recommend going there!!! We will be back and don’t even hesitate further to book with them and give surfing a try while in Barbados….you won’t regret it for a second!!!

My partner and I were on Caribbean cruise. Our goal was to go surfing in Barbados 🇧🇧.
We spontaneously went to the store to ask for a surf lesson.
Then we were welcomed by a very nice German lady.
The welcome was directly warm and friendly.
Axe our surf instructor stowed the equipment and off we went to the surf spot.
My boyfriend and I were the only surfers at the spot, Axe gave us great tips and is in the line up with us.
We will never forget these 2 hours!
Afterwards Axe took us to the cruise terminal and told us a lot about Barbados and life there. It was an experience for life.

had the best experience learning how to surf here! I have always wanted to learn how to surf, and Axe, Matthew, and the rest of the team made it a dream come true with their incredible teaching skills. Thanks so much for not only helping me catch my first waves but also creating a wonderful memory that I'll treasure forever. I look forward to coming back next time I'm on the island!

I decided to book a lesson with Dread or Dead at the beginning of my holiday and I enjoyed it so much I ended up going back nearly every day I was in Barbados! The briefing on the beach was informative yet easy to understand before getting out onto the water and covered all the safety points clearly. After each attempted wave I was given feedback to improve on and before I knew it I was catching waves on my own and surfing right up to the beach!
The instructors Axe and Tai made me feel comfortable and safe throughout the whole lesson and mostly importantly made sure I had great fun.
When I am back in Barbados I will certainly be visiting Dread or Dead again, highly recommend!

Axe was awesome! Arrived to the surf school, loaded up the boards and we were off to the beach. Axe gave us a quick yet informative pre-surf lesson and within minutes we were hitting the surfs. You can get some great pictures from Bolt as well for a small fee. Excellent time hitting the surf!

Ok so inquires for bookings using trip advisor is not the best way to get hold of us Quickly . As I'm often answering e mails .instagram and FB . i am currently trying to sort out booking threw face book . Also there in no alerts coming from trip advisor when you ask questions or try to book . Hi Dian . The minimum age for group lessons is 10 years old . However if your child can swim we can start them younger , for this we do private lessons only . Thanks russell

yes we have go pro , however we only use it upon request , as we have lost a few now and for best results someone needs to monitor the camera .
