Laki Tours takes you on an ocean adventure in four different trips. Puffins galore can be spotted from the protected Melrakkaey island where thousands of other birds also nest. Sea-angling is the perfect family outing and gets even more exciting when you get to keep your catch. From Olafsvik, the Whale tour gives excellent whale watching in deep waters at the foot of the majestic Snaefellsjokull Glacier. Winter brings the orcas, dolphins and white-tailed eagles. We take you to them on what is by now, our most popular tour. "We're living it!"

We went on Laki Tours in September and saw a number of minke whales. Of course, it's the luck of the draw if whales are seen. We really only saw one up reasonably close. The guide was very knowledgeable, telling us about the area, the...More

Wonderful afternoon on the boat! We saw two humpback whales and were very lucky to spend some time watching both. Obviously with any tour like this if comes down to luck but the crew were very helpful and informative!

Our whale watching experience was interesting: for the first three hours we saw no whales. During the last hour, however, we saw, up close, 2 beautiful minke whales and 5 spirited white-beaked dolphins. The whale watch had a profound affect on some of us in...More

We went on a whale watching adventure out of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula with Laki Tours. They offer this tour two times a day during the summer. They are extremely well-equipped and give everyone a waterproof suit to wear during the trip, which also keeps you...More

LAKI TOURS DON'T DISAPPOINT! Apparently in 7 weeks at HOLMAVIK only once were there no whale sightings (foggy day). Please support this small eco company who are the only ones operating from Western Fyords so they can return to Holmavik next year. 2 days ago...More

We did the 3 hour whale watching trip from Olafsvik. This was an amazing experience suitable for all ages. You are given cold weather gear before getting on the boat. Only 20 minutes from the dock we saw our first whales (orcas), then soon thereafter...More

At their web page you can find a whale diary where you can check how many times they saw whales around that time in the past years.

Hi Lynn. It took my company (with a rental car) around 3-5 hours to drive from Reykjavik, but we stopped several times. The car we used was rented at Keflavik airport and now I'm not entirely sure for what price. You should... More
