It is just the base before you start Amarnaath yatra. This place is busy during that period. Otherwise it is just a stop point while you go for betaab valley.

People liked playing in the snow, though in May it looked very dirty, so that was disappointing. Be prepared to have some difficulty in breathing as this place is 9,500 feet high.

Kindly avoid guides . They loot a lot. U can bargain to maximum level. U can borrow jacket nd shoes to walk on glaciers between 100-200only. They wil offer u to take 12points. Don't accept. Jus borrow jacket n shoes and enjoy glaciers. Enjoy Maggi...More

This place is starting point for Amarnath yatra. This is first place where you can actually feel the snow. There are some snow related activities . This place offer the stunning view of mighty himalayas

This place has little bit snow which is dirty and muddy in color...nothing much to see...dont waste your time if you are planning to visit gulmarg or sonmarg...no toilets at this place...only one which had no water and long queue...i visited with my 5 yr...More

Chandanwadi can be reached by Pahalagam by only Local taxis as Srinagar Taxis are not allowed due to Local Union. It is a place where once can play with snow comparatively less crowded and less people to bother you for SKI rides. If visiting chandanwadi...More

All tour operators have a combo of Chandanwadi-Betab valley-Aru valley. I suggest Skip Chandanwadi. Hectic drive and hardly anything worth seeing except black and muddy ice. Anyways If u are visiting Gulmarg or Sonmarg- then it doesn’t make any sense going there.
