Not really an attraction, more a depressing site

The bird sanctuary is an excellent learning experience. Set up to first watch a two minute video and then a visit with the caretakers to learn more about parrots in captivity. Consider donating to the educational learning and year round caring for these birds.

A bunch of supposedly rescued birds in a big row of cages? I wouldn't call that an attraction. I would hardly call it rescue either. The birds are totally penned in, in very confined cages. I'd say it's more a bird prison than a sanctuary....More

The sanctuary is really quite simple. It's just one long room with many cages of parrots. But these people really deserve the support for their work with these parrot rescues. It must be heartbreaking to need to rescue so many and such a commitment once...More

My family and I LOVED our visit here :) Every bird was breathtakingly beautiful :) I really hope the man running the place starts to get people to sign waivers! He gets people to watch a video stressing not to put your fingers in the...More

What a wonderful learning experience. The gentleman who runs the place and takes care of all the parrots really cares about teaching children about the reality of owning a parrot. He speaks to them and not the adults. Highly recommended.

It is heartwarming to see Ray the owner so compassionate about taking care of rescued parrots. People buy parrots and realize that they scream which results in them being returned. This place is wonderful for families and educational outings. Parrots are noisy by nature I...More

Very interesting tourr and the Owner knows anything that's worth knowing about these birds. But beware - parrots scream, so don't think this will be a fun educational jaunt for your 4-yr old like we did!

The tour costs about $5 and this money goes toward taking care of the parrots. First you watch a video about parrots and the host provides interesting information about parrots. Afterwards you are allowed to see the parrots, there are at least 20 parrots that...More
