My favourite part of the whole trip - there were A LOT of jeeps, however the general consensus from the drivers was to not crowd too much and move on after a short while.. I did two safari's and both the drivers were very conscious of how many jeeps were around the elephants or if there were too many. The... More

Although there were many jeeps this evening, we were able to get very close to the mothers and babies. Please, fellow animal-lovers, DO NOT BRING BALLOONS AND SHAKE THEM SCREAMING FOR THE ANIMALS' ATTENTION. Let's show our humanity.

I would recommend that you leave it to your driver to decide whether you go to Kaudulla or Minneriya as they are close to each other and the guides know where the elephants are likely to appear. Yes, there are a lot of jeeps but when the engines are switched off watching these wonderful animals in the wild is a... More

Our Chauffeur- Guide knew there was a large herd of female and juvenile elephants in the park so as we were nearby we headed there the following morning. We were not disappointed as we observed over a 100 elephants eat and swim in the reservoir unperturbed by all that watched and were enthralled by them. We also saw a large... More

Great jeep safari to see elephants, monkeys, peacocks, fish eagles and other wild birds in their natural habitat. Tracks are bumpy but nothing that the jeep couldn't handle. Amazing experience!

Undoubtedly there are better safaris e.g. Yala, but if you want elephants then Kaudulla by our experience is a good place to start. We saw over 50 elephants, 6/7 herds as well as water buffalo, wild fox and plenty of bird life. Indeed, we actually saw wild elephant at the roadside before we got to the park. Our guide appeared... We went to this park rather than Mineriyah as it would in theory be less busy. Unfortunately there were a good number of jeeps which spoiled the experience somewhat. Nevertheless we did see a number of different species of birds and lots of elephants. Very enjoyable if you are an elephant fanatic like me!.

The view of elephants in the wild is great and the biggest draw, however we also saw birds of prey and a Kingfisher.

We arranged for the safari through our hotel at Sigiriya. The 4X4 jeep arrived at 2 pm but we could started only at 2.30 as we climbed the Rock Fortress. It was an hour drive before we entered the National Park. Our Driver Sarath was a wnder ful guide and took us through the tracks where we could see monitors,... More
