We had just arrived in the area and were reluctant to do this tour after 24 hours of travelling so glad we did though. Only 20minutes from our hotel we saw loads of elephants, water buffalo, peacocks a jackal monitor lizards and monkeys so well worth a visit.

We had a lovely few hours at this national park. We had a very knowledgeable guide in our jeep who was very informative, and stopped the jeep everytime he saw something. We saw a few elephants, but the day before there had been lots and lots apparently.

We went in a 4 wheel drive jeep during the afternoon. We had a driver and guide and the trip was excellent. We saw lots of elephants and were pretty close ; the animals did not seem bothered. No other jeeps around. This may have been because we set off in the rain. There were lots of birds as well... More

We had a jeep arranged by our hotel. We enjoyed the elephants very much particularly when they went to the water. There were several baby elephants as well. A good experience. Our only gripe was that there were more jeeps than elephants!!

Did the Jeep tour, which is quite popular and offered at all the local hotels. Saw peacocks, eagles, a variety of other birds and plenty of elephants. Observed 1 elephant ram a Jeep that got too close, no one hurt but a little scary...

There are quite a few bird species but you need binoculars or a good zoom lens to see them. Main thing is elephants and nothing else. Get reasonably close and it's great to see them in a safe environment. Get to see their life. Single males missing out. An ostracized female with 2 young ones which was strange. I think... More

We were proved wrong our driver was very good and pointed out all sorts of animals. We were really surprised at how close we got to the Elephants and had time to just... More

Excellent for seeing large herds of elephants even though it is supposed to be the off season. Come when no one else is here.. between 12-15. There a jeeps available at the gate and you can even be lucky enough to get a guide, We got one that spoke excellent english. Best safari when it came to information about the... More

A fantastic trail where you will see lots of elephants. Be aware that this is extremely popular so setting off earlier will prevent you being in a huge queue to take a picture :( There are many many tour providers/ jeep safaris so shop around and negotiate.

We booked our safari through our guesthouse, Mutu Village in Habarana (excellent place btw). We payed 2500 slr for the jeep, about half an hour driving to the entrance of the park, the total trip lasting about 3,5 hours. That was enough in our opinion. The 6700 slr entrance fee for 2 persons is fixed. Upon entering the park, you... More
