Very peaceful place with beautiful scenery and charming Basilica of Saint Rita.
The pace of life in Cascia is slow and relaxing.

We are not Catholic so are perhaps not the most reliable reporters of churches, but found this church ugly. The atmosphere was rather sad of course, sine Rita is a last resort for many people, compared to Assisi, for eg. Also the monk outside asked us where we came from but did not offer to bless us, which we found surprising, but did those next to us.
A must only for those who want to pray here. Non stop services.

This is a pilgrimage site. There are the relics of Saint Rita. It is a good place to pray… You can find a parking Space for the car very close to the church.

My mum is very devout to Santa Rita, and I always admired this woman, so we both were really happy to visit the Basilica dedicated to this fantastic person: wife, mother, nun and Saint all in one. The church is very colourful and pleasant to visit; apart from Santa Rita’s body, we also saw the bodies of two other Saints.

Looking at the exterior of this basilica, you would think it's some fairy tale castle. As you enter the church, you could also imagine yourself to be in some fairy tale land. Though the paintings are not some famous renaissance artwork, the colours just attract you to stay longer in this church to spend some quiet time. The incorrupt body of St. Rita of Cascia can also be found to the left of the church.
Don't forget the small chapel down the slope from the entrance of the basilica. It is not known to many people, hence quieter and more space for prayer and reflection. An interesting feature would be the Eucharistic Miracle, kept in the stone and crystal tabernacle to the right. It concerned Blessed Simon of Cascia, and you could find pamplets detailing the Miracle in the chapel. His remains could also be found here.
The only problem with this basilica was how to come here. Unfortunately, this small beautiful town didn't allow any vehicles in, unless you were a resident or hotel guest. Hence, I had to park at the outskirts before slowly making my way up. Try to look for the escalators, which would save you much climbing efforts.

You feel the heavan on earth. We just rent a car from termini ,34euro all day and you can give it back the other day at the same hour , and we went first to saint franscis in assisi , it is such a wonderful place , amazing . Make sure to start your day early beacuse you need minimum 4 hours at assisi to see and enjoy all the basilica and the village. then we went to saint rita di cassia , amazing village with all the green mountains that covered it . It was a dream to be there .when i entered the basilica i just cried , it gives you a magical feeling.
When we get back we put fuel on our car it cost 50€ but we have it all the day and we drove about 650km .

Recommended for believers because you can meet prayers from all over the world coming to pray. You feel peaceful and blessed. The Basilica is located on top of a winding mountain. St. Rita's in corrupt remains are on display in a glass tomb. There are several little restaurants and souvenir shops within walking distance of the Basilica.

A nice place around 3 hours from Roma. Better to be in a car because it’s little be complicated with public transport. Recommended for believers because you can meet prayers from all over the world coming to pray and meditate.

Vedi Sabina, quel luogo santo è veramente un luogo di preghiera per chiedere grazie per intercessione della Santa e qualunque "distrazione" non sarebbe ben accetta. Gioioso proseguo

I believe that is not possible to collect leaves (or one leaf) from the grape of St. Rita...by the way you can pray inside the Monaster or inside the churh. Or, in alternative, you can buy some objects devoted to St. Rita...
