There are several interesting things to see within Guia Fortress including the charming lighthouse which stand next to the Our Lady of Guia Chapel. This lighthouse dates back to 1895 and is one of the iconic images many associate with Macau World Heritage.

Historically, this was the first modern lighthouse built along the coast of China. It is an attractive building to see while visiting the fort. Unfortunately, you can't enter the lighthouse but can walk near and and photograph it up close. Further, while sightseeing around the city centre you can see the Guia Lighthouse from many locations by looking towards up Guia Hill.

Take the cable car up and walk around the Guia hilltop before going to the lighthouse and fortress area, spend some time taking in the view and taking photos, well worth it.

A trip to the past, to visit the most ancient western-style beacon in the East. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden, on a hill, and has a spectacular view over Macau. Sadly, it is now very far from the water, because of all the continuous land reclamation. Good to visit with children, they can run around and play safely. One of Macau most popular jogging circuits.

...has been a recent travel objective of mine. I really like this one not only for the historical aesthetic it brings to Macau, but also for a relaxing (maybe contented) feeling I got today from just sitting and looking at it. It wasn’t easy too because some young people - I mean like people in 30’s - were doing a major selfie thing all around it, acting foolish, or really maybe just having a good time. It seemed like for an hour or so too. Wish I was them. You know, I don’t really want people I don’t know in the pictures I take - know what I mean Sĩ - so I waited them out. And I still felt good coming here despite them, and ultimately I did take my pics. Hey that’s a really old church next to it; I guess you can see that yourself from the cross. They won’t let you take pictures inside, but you can see some really old drawings on the walls that are almost faded out. I think that’s a grave under some glass on the floor as soon as you enter too (another travel objective). Speaking of entering: be careful because I almost tripped and busted my ass going through that door. That didn’t seem to faze the lady who told me not to take the pictures so it must happen a lot. You know I can’t stop worrying about Jack and his family in Connecticut as I write this review. Sorry I’m distracted.

Bit of a hike to get here. Lighthouse sits inside the small fort, which in turn sits in a reasonable park. Nice please, photo ops. Be a short visit, not much here otherwise.

It’s a good walking to the top and enjoy the city view. The view was amazing . Can see both sea side and city tower site. Great place to relax and escape the crowd of CBD.

Walked through the gardens and up to the lighthouse. A scenic walk, while not too tiring. Loads of history. Good view of Macau from the lighthouse.

Go up to the lighthouse in the cablecar, which takes minutes and costs very little, and walk through the parkland with lovely views, enjoy some shade of trees and birdsong and butterflies, go through the tunnel to read about the bunkers and the history, see the chapel and its remains of frescos - experience some real Macau history and peacefulness!
