The most interesting features of Guia Hill and Fortress are the military tunnels. The set near the lighthouse is open all the time, but the group near the cable car is only open on selected days. Use the cable car to climb the hill, then walk toward the lighthouse. The lighthouse is locked up, but the adjacent chapel is open... More

Beautiful lighthouse located at the city center. Very strange. lol Lighthouse usually situated near coastal area. You can tell the interesting development of the little city. If you take pictures on a sunny day with the lighthouse as the background, it feels like you are in Europe. Must see when you visit Macau!!

On a sunny day in February, this was a great little trip. Take the cable car up (14 Macau Dollars for four adults and a two year old round trip). Once at the top there is still a few hills and stairs to climb but not bad if you take your time. There are plenty of rest areas. You can't... More

Thoroughly recommend going to Guia Hill and visiting the fortress. A lot of history and great views of the city of Macau. Great break to experience open gardens in a very dense city.

Make it a first on your list to do because the walk up the Hill is painful if you went to the Ruins etc first.(or if your at the Sun Yet sen site end take the cable cart up the Hill 2MOP) The Lighthouse is amazing shame you cant enter it though, theres a mini museum next to it which... More

Definitely a must visit. You get a beautiful view of Macau skyline from the top of the fortress. The lighthouse was under repairs but it is nicely maintained. There is a small museum with old artifacts, weapons, typhoon signals, etc...

The Guia Fortress is the smaller of the remaining forts, but it is beautifully preserved. Warning, if walking to the fort, it is quite a steep hill and not advisable in the summer heat, unless you are well acclimated to sub-tropical humidity.

We worked for this one, a lot of uphill streets and steps, though we found an elevator & subway system on the way back down. There's also a cable car, but I don't know details of that. The fortress compound is many sights in one place: Chapel is simple and lovely, there are original frescos that were re-discovered in 1999... More
