very enjoyable ! entry age is 25 and they are quite particular about it. casino is bustling with good crowd. i tried the roullete, slot machines and a couple of card games. lost a few dollars and made a couple hundred bucks so it was all fun for me. nice experience. the shops and restaurants are all out of the casino, it only has smoking zones and game zones. bottled water, juices etc is given complimentary. a fun visit !

This was the first stop on our day tour of Macau and we were given some time to wander around and explore. It’s like the original in Vegas, just bigger. There are many shops, gondola rides, and of course the casino. Photography isn’t allowed in the gaming area, but our guide told us to take the escalator up and turn around for a view into the gaming area and to snap photos that way. The gaming area isn’t as open as it is in Vegas.

Nowhere is more symbolic of Macau's gambling industry than the Venetian. The vast complex has been the main tourist draw since opening. Wandering around the indoor canal and people-watching is an interesting experience. Expect huge crowds day and night.

Yes, superbly crowded on weekends, so avoid if you can. But the place is used to crowd, and indeed built for it, so dont worry!
The whole interior is built to look exactly like Venice. Beautiful photo moments at every corner too!
Big, upscale brands, as you might expect too.
Lots of food places, and prices are generally acceptable, though not your cheap street food of course.
Easily connected to the Parisian experience too.

Gigantic hotel-casino. copy of the one in Las Vegas. Large corridors, copies of Venice. (even with gondolas and artificial canals) Interesting to know for its kitsch. I actually liked the one in Las Vegas better.

I hope you find this useful.
Hotel Rooms: there are about 3,000 hotel rooms at the Venetian Macau. Depending on the week or major holidays or a special promo that you may have, rooms here can cost from MOP1,200 to as crazy as MOP6,000+ during Chinese New Year. The beds are big and comfy and the bathroom is very spacious. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, then these rooms are great. You can also get two to connect if you have a big family. However, I'm not a fan of the older, classical, "venetian" style decor. I am an expat that like my hotel rooms to be modern, hence why I would stay at the Hard Rock, Banyan Tree, Grand Hyatt or the Grand Lisboa.
Food: there is a food court above the casino on the Grand Canal. You can find all types of food from noodles to pizza to burgers to ribs to smoothies. If you're looking for restaurants, then I would recommend the following:
Morton's (steakhouse) - go during Power Hour 5-7pm, 9pm - close for MOP35 mortini's and free mini steak sandwiches.
Fogo Samba (churiscarria) - great place for all you can eat meat. With drinks can cost you over MOP500.
Bambu (buffet) - great value for lunch at around MOP120 and that's including sushi.
Portofino (Italian) - has a great buffet pizza and pasta lunch for MOP125. Outdoor seating as well.
McSorley's (pub) - bar food
Sorry to say I'm not impressed by the Asian cuisine restaurants there, so that's why I'm not recommending any. But if you're looking for a great one, check out Restaurant 8 at the Grand Lisboa.
Rewards card: remember to open a free card as you can get 10% discount at most outlets.
Casino: this is the largest casino floor in Macau and caters to mass gaming on the main floor. You can join the Paiza Club if you're a high roller and looking for VIP treatment and rebates on rolling chips. Every table game is on offer here, even War, Craps, Two Up (flipping of two coins). Massive electronic gaming area called the Imperial Stadium where you can play baccarat, roulette and sic bo at from one console.
Poker: the only casino on the Cotai Strip that offers No Limit Texas Hold'em and 1 of 4 casinos that offer the game. The lowest limit is HKD10-25. I'm a poker player and I tend to stay away from these tables. Way too many tourists that fish to the river. Yes, could be a great payday or get felted depending if the tourists hit on the river or not. I'd rather play in tournaments at the PokerStars room at Grand Lisboa.
Nightlife: there is a club called Lotus, but no one goes and no one really knows where it is located. It's run by the Sun City junket. Wed ladies night at the Playboy Club on the casino floor is the place to be. Previously it was called Bellini Lounge. Please note that the Playboy Club is no longer at the Sands Hotel. Other than this, there isn't any real other alternatives for clubs or bars. Check out Club Cubic at Hard Rock across the street or the soon to open private members only China Rouge at Galaxy Macau.
Shows: Zaia is the current resident show. It's cool if you've never seen Cirque du Soleil, but why bother when Franco Dragone has created a cooler show called House of Dancing Water across the street at City of Dreams with an Asian theme. The Cotai Arena usually has concerts, sporting events, trade shows and even Hed Kandi pool parties, so check their homepage for up to date events. There are usually room + ferry + show ticket packages that are really good deals, if you're coming for the entire experience.
Shopping: the Grand Canal Shoppes offer the most shopping in Macau. It seems like the shops never end and every name brand is there. If you really enjoy shopping, you'll be happy. If you just want to walk off a big meal, it's perfect as well.
Escort: just a quick note on this because you have to be realistic that this does exist and some people do look for this, and that's fine. The girls are usually walking around the center of the casino floor near Florian and also outside on the bridge coming from the main street. I'd suggest spend the same amount of money at just go to a sauna.
Gondola: pass. You just look like a silly tourist.
Malo Clinic: you can do yoga and get spa treatments here. Though if you're looking for a pampered spa treatment, then I'd recommend Altira Hotel, Four Seasons, Wynn or even the very reasonably priced Grand Waldo coed spa located around the block across from Galaxy Macau.
Feel free to contact me should you need more updated info. I live and work in Macau and do travel when I can. Maybe our paths will cross one day. I do enjoy meeting fellow travelers. Enjoy.

For those of you who's never been to a Venetian hotel before, it's basically modelled after Venice the city, so you get the canals, the bridges, the pretty ceilings, the faux Italian spellings...It's an indoor Venice with shops and angry Asians.
You won't get bored here. Endless variety of shops and boutiques ranging from Armani to Skechers.
You won't starve here neither. Food stands and cafes scattered here and there, as well as an affordable food court with an international selection.
You will, however, get lost. This place is massive. The interactive maps planted every 10 meters do help, though.
Obviously, there's the casino too. Lots of tables for gambling and machines for erm, gambling. IDs me (and even my mom!) every time I pass through it.
Our hotel suite was magnificent. I shall write a review if I have time.
