Actual warship but ill maintained for public display. It would have been better if an official walk thru guide is given for tourist groups. Entry ticket is just Rs 15, and the counter person was kind enough to announce non availability of power in the day making inside dark to see anything. On return in the evening, he welcomed everybody when the power was there. Students and NCC cadets cab be benefitted if a guide is appointed there. No public transport outside this place.

It's wonderful experience to witness a real ship converted into museum. They displayed various details about ships and ranks. The mannequins look so real and add value to the entire experience. It's wonderful place to visit

Neatly maintained.
Excellent view of Rabindranath Tagore Beach.
Well maintained garden around the ship.
Inside the ship, will have a glimpse of Captain’s quarter, galley, deck, pilot’s cabin, engine room etc.
Worth spending time with family and friends. Rabindranath Tagore beach is at a walkable distance, eateries available at the beach.

It is closed now. Also the maintenance around the area is gone and is in shambles. Maybe COVID effect. It is just walking distance from city and its e were excited to visit the warship which we can see from the beach but with no luck.

A well maintained museum by Indian Navy on the Rabindra Nath Tagore beach. Tells a story on valour of Indian Navy. The main attraction is INS Chapal, a Chamak Class Missile Boat Ship which has participated in Indo-Pak war. There are some de-fused Missiles and Torpedoes kept in the Open Air museum. The ship is air conditioned and has a audio- visual show inside

You can have a beautiful view of Sunset from here.

My photos will tell you further

Visited the warship while returning from Devbagh resort. Kids loved it and were excited to see the heavy engines, inside cabins, missile launchers etc. The video about its history was out of order and needs to be put back to working condition. The person giving the tickets can guide you once u start asking leading questions but he needs to be free for that. Well maintained warship with inbuilt ACs for the hot weather. But can be improved in terms of information to be given to the visitors.

It's just 20 minutes job to visit the ship and see a video on Indian Navy. However, the experience inside a ship that took part in actual war is very good.

Along coast of Karwar, all attractions are situated. Aquarium, Warship museum, Rock Garden are all situated.
Warship museum is maintained by Indian Navy personnel. It's situated on high platform & entry through stairs. Inside the ship, Captains cabin, cadets rooms, communication room & Engine room can be seen in close proximity. We can also see engine connected to propulsion & three engines can be run to have high speeds
Garden around Ship is having lots of food ring plants, which is being developed as a beautiful garden.

Entry free was Rs. 15. There was an AV shown for 10 mins about the Indian Navy which was very good. Inside view of the ship was a good experience though I felt it could have been better maintained.
