The beautiful clear blue water tint ed by calcium carbonate from the hills makes for lovely scenes. The water is beautifully cool on a hot day and if you can find a less crowded spot makes for a lovely swim. Be warned the current is...More

Spectacular waterfalls in a beautiful jungle setting. Lots of bird life around to photograph, if you're patient with the camera. If you are travelling by road from Palenque to San Cristobal, this is a worthwhile stop for an hour or so, but be careful to...More

I visited the waterfall on a transfer from San Cristobal to Palanque, so the visit felt a bit rushed. The water is pristine. There are multiple levels of waterfall with pools in between. You can walk up next to the waterfalls and it goes uphill...More

Read the warnings from other travelers https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g664450-d1442969-r260940027-Agua_Azul-Chiapas_Southern_Mexico.html#REVIEWS before risking a trip on HWY 199 in Mexico. I made the mistake of thinking this was a temporary 2015 or 2016 issue that surely had been resolved. But I was wrong! The road is blocked by 2x4s...More

Amazing cascade with clear blue water. Ideal spot for photo motive. The road from Palenque is sometimes very bad.

This cascades are one of the most amazing places to visit in the whole country. Their blue color is unique and you can find any type of food and souvenirs in the area. Is a MUST visit in Mexico.

I did not expect much when I walked up the steps to the waterfalls. Except for the street stalls and kids kept bugging me to purchase stuff, the area was rather empty and I was told I was very lucky even in such low season....More
