Even though you may not be interested in motorcycles, you will enjoy this visit. You follow the evolution of the motorcycle from a simple, motorized bicycle up to a very complicated instrument. Over 100 cycles were on exhibit. At least one per year. Learned a lot

It was absolutely perfect - so many motorcycles, all immaculate!!
I went back the next day hoping that the bookshop would be open but it wasn’t.
Each motorcycle has descriptive information - I totally loved and was absorbed for 90 minutes.
I didn’t need a tour guide which was just as well as he only spoke Italian.
If you know anything at all about Moto Guzzi this is hallowed ground and a must-visit!
Just read up on it before you go to get the best experience.

Enjoyed it all very helpful staff. Even the security guard. Got in with a group of international journalists for the tour. Had booked a tour the day before but missed the train. So they were extremely accommodating. Really enjoyed the experience as that is only make of motorcycle I ride,a moto guzzi v1000 g 5, and a cali 1100, and a 1000 sp.

The museum does not inform on its website about correct opening hours. So we used our holiday to visit a museum that was closed. A trip of 2500km. And we were about 20 people standing there flabbergasted. From all over Europe. Not a very happy tourist at the moment.

Moto Guzzi is a very important part of our history and our heritage. I visited this museum three times: two times with my dad (2005 and 2006) and once on a schooltrip (2006). It’s a pity it’s not always open; in my opinion, they should valorize it a little bit more and give it longer opening hours. It’s quite an “old-fashioned” museum, without special effects, but still has its charm. I recommend it even if you’re not much of a motorbike person (I’m not a big motorbike expert myself; I’m more keen on cars)

I could hardly believe how many different types of vehicle the factory had tried out, from the simple single cylinder motorbike, to twins, triples, fours and even a V8! A scooter, and army vehicle, aeroplane engine.... finally with the V twin they seemed to settle down.
Things I would have liked to have seen were:
- A glimpse into the factory, even just through a window, and
- At the end I was quite interested in buying a V85TT and asked about folders or material about it. 'No can do, not that sort of visit'. I think that is a missed chance, there were 50 people interested in the brand and a great opportunity was lost to take their details, or give them a brochure of the latest models to take home.
There was a 'book shop' which actually sold clothes, but nothing for someone who might become a motorbike customer.
The doorman was kind enough to give me the address of the local dealership, about 500m away. They mostly sell MVs and the name of the dealership was 'Agostini' :-)
I did go there too, but 'pushy' is not like this....

This is an old school museum, which is fitting for a heritage marque. If you love Moto Guzzis, according to my husband, it's like a trip to a religious site. There are indeed a truly remarkable number of bikes there, some of them very interesting, even for non-afficionados like me. However, there aer soooo many of them cheek by jowl without muhc interpretation, so it gets a little repetitive if you're not an expert. Also, it's not air conditioned. When i was there in late August it was unbearbably hot and humid inside. It didn'tseem to bother the true enthusiasts though and if you are one, I recommende it highly

Even if you’re not into motor bikes, the beauty of moto Guzzi bikes really sums up italy.
Great design.
Mario the security guard is a real character and will point you in the right direction.
There’s a little souvineer shop that is usually open, but if not go Agostini around the corner for all your needs.
The museum is open from 3 to 4 on weekdays.

The way in is not the main factory entrance, but a red sliding door round the side (the gateman told us where), with parking opposite. The museum is free but only open in the afternoons. In July, it is open for a bit longer. There are supposed to be guided tours, but for some reason they weren’t available on the day we went. The museum is arranged over several floors with dozens and dozens of models of Moto Guzzi bikes in chronological order, showing the development of the marque. My other half loved it!

Hi Laura,
Sorry, no e-mail address. Only a phone number +39 0341 709237.

What's the best way to het to the museum from he ferry stop? Thanks
Written 20 July 2017
Sorry for the very slow reply, I've been offline.
You can walk from the ferry pier to the museum in about 15 minutes. I didn't see any taxis around while there. We were staying in Mandello and had use of a car.

I'm travelling to Italy in June and staying in bellagio for 3 nights ! I was wondering what time this museum is open? I know that it's only open an hour a day but I'm unsure of what time of day it is? Also does anyone know the best public transport from bellagio to the museum?

Hello, we are traveling to Madello del Lario just to see the museum. Are you going to be open May 2,3,and 4th of 2016?
Thank you

Hello,
Interested in touring the museum. Will be in Milan Oct 14 to 18 2015.
We are dependent on public transit. Is there a train or bus from Milan?
Written 3 September 2015
Hi there sorry not sure, Google will have bus routes and timetable, be aware that you only get 1 hour for a visit to museum and you don't get to see the factory, so you could spend a lot of time travelling for little reward. Enjoy
