Nice view from the small bar in front of the church. Enjoy your cappuccino.
Next time we will start a walk from here. Looks interesting.

Beautiful well presevered church in an amazing location. But if you have a large car plan to park at the bottom and walk up, there are several narrow arches you have to drive through to park near the church and our car did not fit.

Wonderful second visit - a spiritual place, surround the great impressions of the Lake Garda.
It´s also a littkle bar beside. But don´t forget: no shorts in the church, please respect that.
Around are great hiking/walking areas, so you can reach the top of the mountain.

We went there with friends a week ago. We arrived around 6.30pm because we wanted to avoid the crowd. We could easily parked our car at the top because at this time the church was already closed (we have chosen to come late to enjoy the sunset). We were the only ones. We took the path and walked. We did not go up to the cross however we stopped at several breathtaking points of view. What an amazing view.

First of all, dont be lazy, and drive to the top in your car, park it below and walk, the walk is part of the experience, when you get to the top, your breathe(whats left of it) is taken away by the view.
There are benches along the way, so you can take a rest once in a while.
Besides the view, the church is beautifull and worth a look.
There is a little cafe if you need a break when you arrive.

We parked on the main road at the bottom and walked up to the church. It was thirsty work so we were delighted to see a bar at the top. We followed the road up to the cross which took another 20-30 minutes. On the way, there are several stunning viewpoints, although the cross itself is surrounded by trees. There are also information boards detailing how the Italians brought guns and searchlights up to the mountain. Definitely worth doing if you're fit enough. There's not much to see in the church but the bar seating area again has fabulous views of the lake. Worth a visit. Drive up to the church if you can't be bothered walking but the car park isn't huge so at busy times, you might have a wasted journey.

The church and monastery are accesible by car, but we walked all the way from the nearby village of Gardola and Aer (with a baby in a stroller) as there is a sidewalk by the road. The bar on top is a welcome surprice for thirsty visitors.
There is path that leads even further on, to the top of the rock. That part is accessble only by foot and I wouldn't reccomend it to children and to those who are dizzy. The views are stunning, but there is nothing to potect you from falling into the precipice (no fence or rope).

It's a fun drive up to get to the place - a little stressful at times, as there are some single lane passes that need to be navigated - but ultimately, it's worth it for the views over Lake Garda.

I am personally not fond of any churches in general, so I only visited it briefly, but I would definitely recommend this place because of its magnificient view.
